Boy Scout Troop 546 to hold Fundraising Yard Sale

Boy Scouts of AmericaCunningham, TN – On Saturday, May 5th, Scout Troop 546 is having a big fund raising Yard Sale at the Central Civitan Building 1/2 mile down Hwy 13 from the 13/48 split on the right. The sale starts at 7:00am.

There will be alittle bit of everything at the sale. Donations of items for the sale will also be taken. All proceeds goes towards the Philmont, New Mexico hiking trip this Summer.

Boy Scout Troop 546 sold Funnel Cakes at the 2011 Lone Oak Picnic to raise money to replace their stolen trailer. The trailer was stolen just three weeks prior to the picnic.

Brady Conatser’s Fundraiser Auction a Huge Success

Brady ConatserCunningham, TN – On Saturday, January 21st at 6:00pm a Fundraiser Auction held at the Montgomery Central High School’s Thomas-Young Gym for Brady Conatser, a young man who was paralyzed in a fall during a fainting episode. All the money raised will help pay for Brady’s medical and rehabilitation bills.

Conatser, a 2011 graduate of Montgomery Central, was paralyzed on December 27th when he became light headed and fell hitting his head on a truck bumper and then again on a bolt that was part of the car lift. He damaged his c-4 vertebrae, breaking his neck. He is currently in Atlanta, GA at the Shepherd Center a world renowned rehabilitation center that specializes in spinal cord injuries in young people.

Around 300 people came to the Fundraiser Auction held at the Montgomery Central High School’s Thomas-Young Gym for Brady Conaster Saturday night.

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville Montgomery County’s foster pets have been “dressed” in the finest Christmas attire in hopes that a Secret Santa Paws will pick them!

All have submitted their wish lists – we have checked them twice – and, their foster homes assure us they have been less naughty and more nice. On behalf of our foster babies who don’t yet have furr-ever homes and the wonderful foster families who love them as their own throughout the year, we will be accepting online donations and hand delivered gifts under the Christmas tree at the Humane Society office through next Friday, December 9th during office hours 9:00am-2:00pm. Planters Bank to Accept Donations for Phoenix Program During December

American Medical Technologist Club at Miller-Motte Technical College “Warm heads and hands”

Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – The AMT (American Medical Technologist) Club at Miller-Motte Technical College in Clarksville, TN is asking the Clarksville community to help them keep people warm this winter. Organizations feed the homeless and others provide warm coats, but frostbite affects the hands and ears. Providing hats and gloves will help to avoid that this winter.

The AMT club has had a presence on campus at Miller-Motte for two years and has approximately 40 members and still growing. Students can join the club after completion of their first quarter at Miller-Motte. [Read more]

Mag’s Coffee Accepting Donations to “Bikers Who Care – Family Fund”

Mag's CoffeeClarksville, TN – On September 18th, 2011, after completing their annual toy run benefit, five members of the Bikers Who Care (BWC) organization died in their sleep from what has been determined to be carbon monoxide poisoning. The tragic, untimely deaths of these caring people not only resulted in a tremendous loss to the Clarksville community, but also forever changed the lives of twelve children.

Operation Serve Project to Sponsor Car Wash and more for Humane Society

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County has been named as one of several charities to benefit from this weekend’s Operation Serve effort.

This coming Saturday, September 24th from 9:00am-2:00pm, approximately 25 volunteers from Grace Community Church will gather at the Humane Society building to help them with various projects that they would otherwise not have the funds or manpower to complete themselves.

Public Library accepting Food Donations for F.U.E.L.

Donations Accepted Through September 11th as Part of Hands-On Clarksville’s Serve to Remember Volunteering Project

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will be accepting food donations of single packaged items suitable for use in the F.U.E.L. program, which serves 1,700 children in Montgomery County.

These children’s only source of food may be that served during the school lunch program. Items will be placed in children’s backpacks at school each Friday to help feed them over the weekend. [Read more]
