Kenwood Elementary School hosts Pennies for Pets Project

Kenwood Elementary SchoolMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Control received a wonderful donation from Kenwood Elementary School on Friday, March 22nd.

The school’s Beta Club led the effort, called Pennies for Pets, a three week long service project to help raise money, awareness about animals and collect supplies all benefitting Montgomery County Animal Control.

Heritage Bank Announces Montgomery County Scholarship Honoree

Heritage BankClarksville, TN – Heritage Bank is pleased to announce Vickie T. Wallace as the 2013 Heritage Bank Scholarship Fund Montgomery County Honoree.

Nineteen seniors from the Montgomery County area will receive the Heritage Bank High School Scholarship in honor of Mrs. Wallace and the commitment she has made to the Montgomery County community.

Over the last ten years, Heritage Bank has committed over $194,000 dollars in scholarship funds to 388 senior high school students planning to attend a higher education institution. [Read more]

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemMontgomery County, TN – Spring is in the air and that means that Youth Art Month is on the way. The annual event will kick off Sunday, March 3rd with a public reception at the Clarksville Montgomery County Library from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

The exhibit will be open the entire month of March and will feature art from some of Clarksville’s best young artists– the students of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. [Read more]

Registration is now open for the 35th Annual Queen City Road Race featuring new 7K Race

35th Annual Queen City Road RaceClarksville, TN – It’s that time of year again to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 35th Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Saturday, May 4th.

The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 7K and 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.

For over thirty years, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell school students, teachers and family members have participated in this Clarksville tradition. [Read more]

Bowl for Kids’ Sake Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville

Big Brothers, Big Sisters of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Big Brothers Big Sisters is recruiting teams for their 31st annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake. The annual fundraiser has brought the Clarksville community together to raise funds for the non-profit’s mentoring programs for many years. This event is expected to raise $80,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville.

The event will kick off on Tuesday March 5th, 2013 at The Pinnacle with the Banker’s Challenge. Area banks have competed to raise the most funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters by raising money among the branches. [Read more]
