Deal is next step toward holding classes later this year
Clarksville, TN – Members of the Montgomery County legislative delegation announced Friday that Nashville State Community College has formally acquired the former Saturn dealership on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard for its satellite campus.
“I am pleased with the news regarding transfer of ownership of this building to Nashville State Community College,” State Representative Joe Pitts said. “This is another step toward the reality of having this fine institution in the Clarksville higher education community.” [Read more]

Montgomery County Election Commission Reminds Voters to Present Photo ID at the Polls
Montgomery County, TN – Early voting began on Wednesday, February 15th, giving registered voters the opportunity to cast ballots for the March 6th Presidential Preference Primary. This is the first statewide election in which voters are required to show photo identification prior to casting their ballots.
Montgomery County Administrator of Elections Vickie Koelman is encouraging voters to take advantage of early voting. [Read more]
Austin Peay State University hosts Annual Guitar Festival February 20th and 21st

Clarksville Montgomery County School System announces New Principal for Rossview Middle to Start Next School Year

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County Director of Schools Mike Harris has named Christina Harris as the principal of Rossview Middle School for the next school year. Current Rossview Middle principal Anna Neubauer plans to retire at the end of this school year.
Mrs. Harris graduated Summa Cum Laude with her B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She also earned her M.S. in education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a second M.S. in educational administration from Concordia University in Wisconsin.

This annual fundraiser brings together local celebrities and dancing professionals for an evening of stellar entertainment.

Clarksville Police Department seeks Applicants for Citizen Police Academy

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is taking applications for the next Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class which runs from March 20th – May 29th, 2012. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
The CPA covers all facets of the Police Department’s activities from administration to tactical operations. Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about Police Department functions, but also afforded a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises. Clarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University art professor will discuss her three-week residency in Tanzania as part of the next Provost Lecture Series session at APSU.
Cynthia Marsh, professor of art, will speak at 3:00pm, Thursday, February 16th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303. The event is free and open to the public.

Love Is In the Air

Clarksville, TN – Love is in the air and the Roxy Regional Theatre is no exception. Currently playing in Downtown Clarksville is the musical comedy revue, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. This very funny and very poignant musical touches on all aspects of love and relationships and every audience member is sure to see themselves on stage at least once.
I asked the ensemble cast of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change if they remembered the first time they were in love and to tell us about it.
