Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre brings “V” Monologues back for Twelfth Year

Clarksville, TN – Eve Ensler’s touching, often hilarious series of monologues about women and performed by women has played to packed houses around the country, and the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues” — beginning its twelfth year on Friday, January 10th, at 8:00pm — is no exception.
This year, Leslie Greene, Michelle Foletta and Adriane Wiley-Hatfield take the stage of the Roxy’s theotherspace in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships, and violence against women.

Clarksville, TN – Convenient Car Care Inc. has announced that their Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations will begin collecting coats and blankets on behalf of Manna Cafe ministries.
Beginning Monday, January 6th, customers who visit one of 7 Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations in Clarksville and Oak Grove KY, will receive $5.00 off any oil change service, if they donate a coat or blanket. Valvoline will gather the donations and deliver them to Manna Cafe Ministries, and they will be distributed to those in need.

Clarksville, TN – The economic data reports of recent weeks contained a few surprises. Consumer spending growth in 3Q13 was stronger than previously estimated, while monthly figures showed acceleration in spending growth in the first two months of 4Q13 (although this is somewhat inconsistent with the pace of income growth).
Right now, inflation-adjusted consumer spending (70% of Gross Domestic Product) appears to be on track for about a 4% annual rate in 4Q13 – impressive, although the current figures may be revised. Durable goods orders rose more than expected in November, with the details suggesting that capital spending plans were delayed due to the government shutdown.

Austin Peay State University official statement on APSU President Tim Hall accepting presidency at Mercy College

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University President Tim Hall announced today that he has accepted the position of president at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. His nearly seven-year tenure at APSU, which marked a period of tremendous growth and national prominence for the University, will come to an end later this spring.
“Lee and I will be departing Austin Peay at the end of the spring semester as I assume the position of president of Mercy College in New York,” Hall wrote in an email message to the campus community today. “We do so with excitement and anticipation at the prospect of new challenges, but with a measure of sadness that we will be leaving a place where we have enjoyed some of the happiest years of our lives.”
