APSU Department of Music professor Dr. Patricia Halbeck presents “A Celebration of Creativity”

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Professor of Music, Dr. Patricia Halbeck will combine music, visual art and creative writing into a unique event as she presents a solo piano recital titled “A Celebration of Creativity.”
The event will be held Monday, March 23rd at 7:30pm in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the APSU main campus.
Beginning with music by J.S. Bach, Chopin, and Schumann, Dr. Halbeck created a series of oil paintings reflecting the mood and atmosphere of the music.

Love and Theft, comprised of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson, have three widely acclaimed albums and numerous hits. This year they received their third consecutive Vocal Duo Of The Year nomination at the CMA Awards.

Peggy Bonnington Shows ‘Unity in Diversity’ at Planters Bank in March

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature “Unity in Diversity” by local artist Peggy Bonnington from Monday, March 9th-Wednesday, April 1st.
A native of Chattanooga, Bonnington has lived in Clarksville since 1987. Although without formal art training, she has been interested and involved with art since early childhood and has studied a variety of different media in small group or individual sessions with many prominent artists, including painting, pottery, drawing, printmaking and bookmaking.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to host three community meetings

Montgomery County, TN – Sheriff John Fuson and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) will be hosting a series of three informational meetings dubbed Community Information Exchanges, to address the concerns of the community and get feedback from citizens about activity in their particular area of the county.
The first meeting will be for citizens in the eastern part of Montgomery County (zones 2 & 3, see graphic) and will be held 10:00am, Saturday, March 21st at Living Hope Baptist Church, 255 Little Hope Church Road in Clarksville, TN.

What’s a Cataract and How Do I Get Rid of It?

Clarksville, TN – When I recently had surgery on both my eyes to remove cataracts, I was told at Clarksville Ophthalmology that some people come to their first appointment expecting to have surgery that day. That’s not how it works.
Dr. C. Patrick Fitch carefully explained the procedures to me after I had had numerous tests. Dr. Fitch has literally performed at least 10,000 cataract surgeries during his career and is dedicated to the health of all his patients.
It seems appropriate to look at what is involved in cataract surgery since a large portion of the population will at some time encounter the need for this procedure.
