Idealistic young scientist Dr. Henry Jekyll creates a mixture he hopes will eliminate human evil. In doing so, however, he unleashes the dark forces within, creating the hideous and murderous Mr. Hyde.
3rd Annual Pit Bull Awareness Day set for Sunday, October 25th

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, October 25th from 1:00pm-4:30pm, the 3rd Annual Pit Bull Awareness Day will be held at Pet Food Center located at 2243 Lowes Drive, Clarksville, TN.
This event is held to bring awareness about the misconception of bully breeds and raise funds specifically earmarked to provide free or greatly reduced cost spay/neuter surgeries to owners of bully breeds and mixes in an effort to reduce euthanasia and increase adoptions of pit bulls in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.
Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for October 16th through October 21st, 2015

Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Port Royal Hike, Dunbar Cave History, Night Hike, Sinkhole in a Bottle, Forest Food Web and Fall Hike.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Facility Hours to Change for Fall Break

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s three community centers will adjust their hours of operation for Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) Fall Break. From October 12th-16th, all three community centers will be open from 10:00am to 7:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 10:00am to 6:00pm Friday.
The Indoor Aquatic Center will remain open from 9:00am to 8:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 9:00am to 6:00pm Friday. All facilities will resume normal operating hours on Saturday, October 17th. [Read more]

Clarksville County Arts and Heritage Development Council to hold Exhibition, Reception for 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-Off

Clarksville, TN – This Friday and Saturday, October 16th and 17th, artists from around Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky will arrive in Clarksville to paint the city in the 2Rivers Plein Air Paint-out.
Clarksvillians are invited to a reception and exhibition of work produced through the weekend at the L & N Train Station, on Saturday October 17th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. They may also purchase fresh, original work featuring scenes of their favorite Clarksville landscapes, painted en plein air.

Clarksville plein air watercolorist Eunice Kern found a way to stay dry during last year’s 2Rivers Paint-Out competition as she painted a scene at Smith Trahern Mansion. Organizers expect better, brighter weather next weekend.
New APSU scholarship to help East Tennessee students become Special Education teachers

Clarksville, TN – Students from Scott and Blount counties interested in becoming special education teachers are eligible for a new scholarship at Austin Peay State University, thanks to a recent gift from an anonymous donor.
The East Tennessee donor will give APSU’s Martha Dickerson Eriksson College of Education (MDECOE) $50,000 over the next five years for its Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) scholarship initiative. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University associate professor and chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance Brian Vernon has been awarded the 2015 Margaret Martin Award by the Tennessee Association of Dance (TAD).
The Margaret Martin Award recognizes individuals or corporations who make long term, consistently outstanding contributions that further the public image and accessibility of dance in Tennessee. APSU School of Nursing receives $41,798 grant with health department for breast health

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University School of Nursing and the Montgomery County Health Department will continue to support the fight against breast cancer, thanks to a $41,798 grant from the Greater Nashville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
