Clarksville Parks and Recreation Seeking Citizens Ideas for Burchwood Park

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation Department will conduct a Neighborhood Input Workshop on Tuesday, August 27th at 6:30pm regarding the future of Burchwood Park. Burchwood Park is a mini-park located at 2608 Burch Street just off of Fort Campbell Blvd. in North Clarksville and is a park in transition and ready for upgrades.

Park background will be presented, along with discussion about park needs, themes, and other issues affecting the park design and the neighborhood. In addition, a short questionnaire will be distributed to the citizens to obtain priority projects to ultimately develop a Conceptual Master Plan for the Park. [Read more]

Cardboard, and Bottle Boat Races

Clarksville's Riverfest 2013Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 7th, will be made of cardboard, a few other approved materials and this year, plastic bottles! Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division.

Don’t miss the spectacle! Everyone is invited to watch as groups attempt to paddle their cardboard or plastic bottle boats to the finish line on the Cumberland River at 10:00am Saturday, September 7th, at McGregor Park’s courtesy boat dock.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation's Movies in the ParkClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation invites you to come out Saturday, July 27th, to Heritage Park for Movies in the Park, featuring the animated hit, “Brave,” which is rated PG.

“Brave” is about Princess Merida defying a custom that ends up bringing chaos to her kingdom. Merida uses her archery skills and bravery to undo the curse.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park draws large crowd at Liberty Park

Movies in the ParkClarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 29th, Clarksville Parks and Recreation hosted Movies in the Park at Liberty Park for the first time. The movie for the night was “Lincoln” rated PG-13 and it drew a huge crowd to the park.

Abraham Lincoln made and appearance with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln. They greeted everyone that passed by and posed for pictures with attendees.

Doggie Palooza was a great time for pets and their owners

The event is held each year At Heritage Park’s Bark Park, and features a day full of demonstrations, contests, prizes, and much more! But more importantly it is an opportunity for dogs and their owners to socialize with other dogs and their owners.
