Clarksville Parks and Recreation looking for vendors for “Handmade Holidays”

Clarksville, TN – The Wilma Rudolph Event Center, located at Liberty Park, is currently seeking craft vendors to participate in Handmade Holidays.
This year’s two-day event is scheduled to take place November 16th, 2013 from 10:00am to 6:00pm and November 17th, 2013 from noon to 5:00pm.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host “Sevier Days” at Fort Defiance Interpretive Center Saturday, September 28th

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 28th, 2013 from 10:00am to 5:00pm, the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will present “Sevier Days,” an 18th century, pre-Civil War event.
Clarksville Downtown Market Dog Days this Saturday, September 28th

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 28th, 2013, local residents, visitors and their pets are invited to join the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County and other pet-related vendors and organizations for Dog Days being held in conjunction with the Clarksville Downtown Market (Public Square at Main Street).

Clarksville Riverfest’s 7th Annual Regatta Winners Announced

Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, presented by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River at Saturday morning, September 7th were made of cardboard or plastic bottles along with a few other approved materials.
Nineteen teams competed not only for bragging rights, but trophies were awarded to the first, second, and third place teams in each division.

Clarksville’s Riverfest to host Recycled Fashion Show Saturday, September 7th

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest, the two-day music and arts festival scheduled for September 6th and 7th, 2013 at McGregor Park, is hosting the popular Recycled Fashion Show, sponsored by Bi-County Waste Management.
The show is scheduled to take place Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at 4:00pm and is intended to educate the general public about recycling in a fun and exciting way.
Clarksville’s Riverfest Regatta Saturday, September 7th at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp

Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta begins Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at 10:00am at McGregor Park Boat Ramp. The Regatta is sponsored by U.S. Bank.
This year marks the 7th year for the annual Riverfest Regatta, where participants build their own boats made of cardboard or plastic bottles and race them on the Cumberland River. The heats are timed with the fastest time being declared the winner in the respective classes. The course is 100 yards long.
Check in for participants starts at 9:00am.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park to give free showing of “Les Miserables” this Saturday

Clarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation this Saturday, August 17th, at Liberty Park for this week’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the Oscar winning movie, “Les Miserables,” which is rated PG-13.
Les Miserables takes place in 19th century France where Jean Valjean breaks parole and is hunted by policeman Javert. Later he agrees to take care of factory worker Fantine’s daughter, Cosette. That decision changes their lives forever.
