Clarksville Downtown MarketClarksville, TN – The 2011 Clarksville Downtown Market will begin in one month from tomorrow. We are very excited to get started and are looking forward to having a third great season! We will be located in the parking lot next to City Hall in Downtown Clarksville once again this season from 8:00am – 1:00pm on Saturdays.

If you have not turned in your application to be a vendor at the market we will need it as soon as possible. Contracts for accepted market vendors will be going out this week and spots will fill up fast.

Jammin' In the AlleyThe City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more. Join us on Friday, September 17th for Jammin’ in the Alley’s third year in downtown Clarksville.

This month’s free concert features the Clarksville native and local favorite, Joel Brown. He is sure to provide the perfect tunes to groove to and have a good time. Clarksville Parks and RecreationJoin Clarksville Parks and Recreation next Saturday, August 7th, at Heritage Park Soccer fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the hit movie- Forrest Gump which is rated PG-13. Movie will begin at dark, with pre-show activities beginning around 7:00pm. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. As always, you are welcome to bring your picnic basket, but concessions will be available.

Jammin' In the AlleyThe City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more. Join us on Friday, July 16th for Jammin’ in the Alley’s third year in downtown Clarksville.

This month’s free concert features the Tina Brown. This New York native has quickly become a Clarksville favorite performing at various events around town, to include our recent July 3rd Celebration at McGregor Park. List below are Senior Citizen activities happening at Burt-Cobb, Kleeman and Crow Community Centers. Mark your calendars and spread the word. These events are for people who are 55 and older.

Parks and Recreation Office offers extended hours for Pool Pass Sales

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation office located at 104 Public Square will be open to the public until 5:30 pm now through Friday, May 28th for pool pass sales. Remember, pools open this weekend, Saturday, May 29th. Get your pool pass today!

Pool passes will be available at the Parks and Recreation office during regular operating hours, as well. Regular operating hours are weekdays, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Parks and recreation to hold Senior Citizen Dance

Clarksville Parks and Recreation is going to start providing Senior Citizen Only Events at Kleeman Community Center.  The first event is a Senior Citizens Dance to be held on Friday May 21st, 2010 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Kleeman Community Center on 166 Cunningham Lane.  This event is for adults from age 50 and up.  The admission cost is $2.00 per person.  Come out  for some refreshments, music, and socializing.

Easter Egg Hunt scheduled

easter-eggsClarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce its first annual Easter Egg Hunt for children in the community on Sunday, April 5th, beginning at 2 p.m. at Heritage Park soccer fields (1241 Peachers Mill Road).

All children ages 1-12 are welcome to attend this free event.

The Easter Bunny will be on hand to take pictures with the kids, and prizes will be awarded throughout the afternoon.  Children will be divided by age groups and begin hunting at the following times:

  • 2 p.m., Ages 1-3
  • 2:10 p.m., Ages 4-6
  • 2:20 p.m., Ages 7-9
  • 2:30 p.m.,  Ages 10-12
