The Power of Women at Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – Customs House Museum celebrated Women’s History Month with The Power of Women on Saturday, March 17th. The day featured fabulous food, original jewelry, artworks, poetry, music and advice on investing, beauty, estate planning, and owning your own business.
The Choppin’ Block, represented by Jennifer Davis and Brenda Sykes, began the day with a brunch fit for a queen. In addition to juice and Mimosas, the buffet held French toast casserole; an egg-spinach-mushroom-onion casserole; petite Danishes; mixed berry, blueberry and strawberry muffins; and array of fresh fruits including grapes, orange slices, strawberries, honey dew melon, and cantaloupe. An entire room on the second floor of the museum was dedicated to getting to know the other participants while enjoying a delicious feast.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s awards second-annual Coach of the Year Award

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department along with Legends Bank awarded the Legends Award – Coach of the Year Award to Clarksville High School wrestling coach, Jeff Jordan last night at the second-annual Legends Award Coaches’ Banquet held at William O. Beach Civic Hall in Veterans Plaza.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces winners of the Queen City Road Race Art Contest

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of the Queen City Road Race Art Contest. Two finalists were selected from each of the participating elementary schools.
The overall winning artwork is featured on the official race T-shirt and event poster. Along with that honor, the top finalist has been awarded $100.00 for their art class. The top three finalists each won a Chick-fil-a party for their art class. Each finalist received a certificate and art kit which were presented at their schools.
Clarksville Academy announces Promotions, Transfers and Leadership Roles

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy is a Pre-K through 12th grade college preparatory school that has seen impressive growth over the past few years. Due to the increasing number of students attending CA, Kay Drew, Head of Schools proudly announces staff promotions, transfers and new leadership roles.
These position changes allow the staff at Clarksville Academy to better serve the students and families who are now part of the Cougar tradition. Position changes will be effective August 1st, 2012.
Kari Turner continues to serve the school community in her role as Executive Assistant to the Head of School and also as Director of School Affairs. [Read more]
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Finalists for the second-annual Legends Award

Clarksville, TN – The nominations are in for the second Clarksville Sports Festival Legends Awards. The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department along with Legends Bank have partnered in an effort to honor both current and past coaches who are or have made a unique difference and solid contribution to sports and athletics in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.
The Legends Awards consists of two categories: Coach of the Year and Legends Old School Coach. [Read more]

Head of Schools Kay Drew, “It is such an honor to witness our students’ achieve success. Zach’s ability on the golf course gained him the attention of Lipscomb, but his performance in the classroom is what got him not only an athletic scholarship but an academic one as well.”
The Kiwanis Club “Interview A Veteran” Essay Contest Winners

Clarksville, TN – The Kiwanis Club of Clarksville their “Interview A Veteran” Essay Contest Winners program Tuesday, November 8th 2011. The Essay contest was open to all Clarksville Montgomery School System and Fort Campbell students ages 6-12.
Each school winner was awarded a plaque and a $100.00 gift card by the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville. The Middle School and High School Division winners received a U.S. flag formerly flown over the U.S. Capitol, a special patriotic award, and an additional $100.00 gift card.
