Clarksville based Hand Family Companies purchase stake in Chicago based Beer Distributorship

Budweiser of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Hand Family Companies (“Hand”), a family-owned beer distributor based in Tennessee, today announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Anheuser-Busch’s 30-percent interest in CITY Beverage–Illinois LLC (“CITY”) and partner alongside BDT Capital Partners (“BDT”) in its acquisition of 100-percent of River North Sales and Service LLC (“River North”) in two separate transactions, creating the largest distributor in Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area market selling approximately 23.5 million annual case equivalents.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society’s Wags to Witches raises almost $13,000

Wags to Witches Fur Ball BashClarksville, TN – On Saturday, the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County held their annual Wags to Witches Fur Ball Bash on Saturday, raising almost $13,000 that will go to help fund their operations over the coming year.

The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County uses the funds to provide low-cost Spay/Neuter vouchers, Pet Fostering, along with counseling and education services. They are also working to establish the first low cost Spay-Neuter clinic in our community which will help pet owners be able to afford to do their part in controlling the stray dog and cat population in the county.

Customs House Museum Presents the 3rd Annual Laying Low

Originally created as a laid-back alternative to the annual Flying High fundraiser, Laying Low is an outdoor event suitable for the fall season.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will begin a three-concert series leading up to Homecoming.

The City Lights Concert Series, sponsored by The Gilroy, Budweiser of Clarksville and APSU Alumni Relations, will begin Friday, October 12th. APSU alumni, friends and fans are invited.

All shows will start at 8:00pm at The Gilroy, located on the corner of University Avenue and Main Street, with doors opening at 6:00pm. [Read more]

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will sponsor both a golf tournament and 5K scholarship run during Homecoming 2012, and those will be open to the public.

The 34th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament will be at 8:00am, Friday, October 26th at Swan Lake Golf Course. Cost is $60.00 per person, and advance registration is required. The 2012 Riverfest Festival to be held on September 7th and 8th

Budweiser Clydesdales coming to Fort Campbell Saturday

“The Clydesdales are the best-known symbol of the Budweiser brand and we are bringing them to Fort Campbell in support of Budweiser’s partnership with the Folds of Honor Foundation,” said JR Hand, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hand Family Companies.
