APSU Breast Cancer 5k Supports Relay For Life

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On April 5th, more than 200 runners, walkers and community supporters braved the chill of early spring for the 4th Annual Breast Cancer 5k at Austin Peay State University.

With proceeds earmarked for breast cancer treatment and research, the Montgomery County Relay For Life is very fortunate for the continued support of Austin Peay State University and for the community for participation in the Breast Cancer 5k since the Relay For Life effort supports the battle against all forms of cancer.

Clarksville Athletic ClubClarksville, TN – Although Breast Cancer Awareness Month has come and gone this year, the struggle for survivors, caregivers, families and friends, and the need for support continue year round. Breast Cancer awareness is not just for the month of October at the Clarksville Athletic Club (CAC).

In fact, “we give all year long and are very proud of it, and this month we donated $800.00 for this wonderful cause in helping to find a cure for Breast Cancer.” stated Cheryl Berardo, Retention Director. As a community we all have responsibility for health (fitness) and wellness.

Go Commando Donates Over $50,000 To Charitable Organizations

Go Commando Half Marathon and 5kClarksville, TN – The Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k, powered by CDE Lightband, announced Tuesday they would donate over $50,000 to local non-profits and community organizations.

The largest recipients, the Clarksville Area YMCA and the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation, were both on hand to accept donations of $15,000 each. Christy Batts, Broadband Division Manager for the Clarksville Department of Electricity, was also in attendance to present the checks to the recipients.

American Cancer Society Relay For Life Kickoff Rally on October 1st at Clarksville’s Hilldale Baptist Family Life Center

Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – On October 1st, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® campaign of Montgomery County will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather at the Hilldale Baptist Family Life Center for a kickoff rally to launch their fundraising efforts for the year.

In addition to a delicious meal and fellowship with some of Clarksville’s finest volunteers, the rally will feature speakers from the community who have benefited from funds raised at Relay, will honor cancer survivors, will recognize this past year’s participating teams and their contributions toward this effort, and the award-winning step team from West Creek High School will perform.

Austin Peay State University Breast Cancer Awareness 5K raises $3,375 to American Cancer Society

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – On an early Saturday morning April 13th, more than 200 runners joined forces to race in the Breast Cancer Awareness 5K race organized by a number of offices at Austin Peay State University.

Some of them walked away with top finisher awards, but all of them played a part in raising $3,375 to the American Cancer Society.

Relay For Life Supports APSU Breast Cancer 5k and Survivors Dinner

Relay for LifeClarksville, TN – On April 13th, in the midst of more than 200 runners, walkers and community supporters members of the Relay For Life Leadership joined the Breast Cancer 5k effort at Austin Peay State University.

Leadership Team members Karen Davis, Brittnye Farley, Paul Farley and Cydney Miller volunteered to assist with guiding and encouraging the runners and walkers on the 5k route.

APSU announces 3rd annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The third annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K will be held Saturday, April 13th in front of the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center on the Austin Peay State University campus.

Registration is available online through www.Active.com or on race day beginning at 6:30am.

The Clarksville Athletic Club donates $1,500 to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

Clarksville Athletic ClubClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Athletic Club, while promoting wellness and fitness with conventional fitness equipment and activity, extends its message of overall wellness to giving back to the community by supporting women’s health during the month of October raising awareness of Breast Cancer.

The Clarksville Athletic Club involved its patrons in the Breast Cancer effort with the signature ribbon color (pink) while promoting fitness and commitment to giving back to the community.
