Easter Service at Grace Community Church
Clarksville, TN – On April 24th, 2011 Grace Community Church will host their Easter Sunday services at Rossview High School and Kenwood High School.
The services at Rossview High School will be held at 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:30am with the service at Kenwood High School beginning at 10:00am.
APSU Professor Yu Earns Best Paper at ACM Conference
Clarksville, TN – Over the last several years, Dr. Yingbing Yu, assistant professor of computer science at Austin Peay State University, has developed an interest in the biomedical science of immunology. Specifically, he’s been curious about how natural immune systems identify and protect an organism from harmful foreign bodies, such as bacteria or parasites. Montgomery County Mother Honored as Mother of the Year for Her Fight to Obtain Healthcare for Her Son
Cunningham, TN – Nancy Hollis of Cunningham is being honored as a 2011 Mother of the Year by the Tennessee Justice Center (TJC). The award is in recognition of her persistence in battling to obtain medical services for her son and for her extraordinary commitment to the healthcare of children and families throughout Tennessee. Ms. Hollis is one of six women from across the state who are receiving the 2011 TJC Mother of the Year award. The awards will be presented on May 5th during a reception in Nashville.

Faculty, staff at APSU present at conferences, appear in publications
Clarksville, TN – Several faculty and staff employees at Austin Peay State University recently presented at conferences, had articles published or represented the University in some way.
Dr. Kristofer Ray, assistant professor of history, spoke at the Civil War Sesquicentennial Program of the Metropolitan Historical Commission on April 9th in Nashville. He explained how the leaders in both the North and South reinterpreted the precepts of America’s founding fathers to suit their own political, social and economic purposes. Ray also is editor of the Tennessee Historical Quarterly. [Read more]
Donation Challenge for Buddy
Clarksville, TN – Hello Friends! The picture below was taken the day the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County came to my aid… I was a scrawny puppy with a broken leg. Who would want me, right? I was battered and broken, but my new friends were on a mission to show me that my life had far more value than I had been shown in my short 6 months of life.
I immediately fell in love with my foster mom that day at the Humane Society office and climbed right into her lap. She worked tirelessly over the last few months getting me back and forth to weekly vet appointments, helping me potty during those early days with the cast, and trying to keep me as still as possible when my wiggly butt just wanted to play-play-play… cast or no cast!

4th Annual Poker Run to Benefit Montgomery County Veterans Transportation
Clarksville, TN – Rolling Thunder Kentucky Chapter 1 will host its 4th annual poker run to benefit the Montgomery County Veterans Transportation Services on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 at Appleton Harley-Davidson/Buell in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The entry fee is $10.00 and registration begins at 9:00am. There will be food, music and prizes for participants. All bikes depart from and return to Appleton’s on 2501 Highway 41A Bypass in Clarksville. [Read more]
