Indoor Aquatic Center to host Toddler Splash April 3rd
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Toddler Splash at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, on April 3rd.
Kids ages 1 to 5-years-old can shake those winter blues away with April’s “Flowers and Bugs” theme by enjoying water games, springtime crafts, and a “Fishing Pond.”
APSU student Eva Grebe to present research in Washington, D.C.
Clarksville, TN – Earlier this year, some 800 college students from across the country submitted proposals to present their research at the annual Council on Undergraduate Research’s Posters on the Hill Convention in Washington, D.C.
That organization, which was founded in 1978 to promote high-quality undergraduate scholarship, accepted only 60 applicants. [Read more]
Clarksville Street Department to offer Yard Debris Pickup Service March 18th through April 8th
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is encouraging Clarksville residents to take advantage of a service offered by the Street Department to help keep Clarksville clean.

TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras to Film Episode in Clarksville Tennessee
Clarksville, TN – Get ready for all the sequins and sass you can handle; TLC’s primetime hit, “Toddlers & Tiaras” will be filming an episode in Clarksville on March 23rd.
The episode, which will air in the fall of 2013, will feature contestants from all over the region competing to win the Ultimate Supreme title in the “Me and My Pet: Down on the Farm” Pageant and take home the super-sized trophy and cash prizes.

Clarksville Christian School Gains Additional Accreditation Status
Clarksville, TN – The world’s largest educational accrediting organization has announced that Clarksville Christian School (CCS) has been granted formal accreditation by its governing body.
AdvancED (formerly SACS—Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) recently notified CCS of its decision. This most recent accreditation now makes CCS a dually accredited school, having also received accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) last July.
APSU to celebrate Women in Athletics April 5th-6th with focus on Title IX
Clarksville, TN – It’s time to laud all current and former female athletes at Austin Peay State University.
The second Women in Athletics celebration, scheduled for April 5th-6th, will spotlight the 40th anniversary of Title IX, monumental federal legislation first enacted in 1972 that requires gender equity in sports and other key educational programs receiving federal funding.
The law states, “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” [Read more]
Clarksville Montgomery County to hold Vietnam Veterans Breakfast in honor of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam War
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government and the City of Clarksville will host a breakfast commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
