Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce Carolyn Pierce, City President, Regions Bank, as the Chairman of the 2013-2014 Board of Directors.
Steven Stroman has also been appointed as the Chair-Elect and will serve as the Chairperson for the 2014-2015 term.

Austin Peay State University Faculty, Staff share plaudits
Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.
Michael Hamlet, director of human resources, has been appointed by the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) board of directors to the 2013 Board of Examiners. As an examiner, he will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating organizations that apply for the TNCPE Award. [Read more]
APSU Public Relations wins 9 awards at 2013 Tennessee College Public Relations Association Spring Conference
Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University won nine awards during the Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA) spring conference and awards contest held Thursday, June 13th and Friday, June 14th at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville Tennessee.

Clarksville Police Department receives Firearm Vest Covers from Citizens Police Academy Alumni

Clarksville, TN – On June 20th, 2013, the Citizens Police Academy Alumni presented the Clarksville Police Department with new Firearms Instructor Ballistic Vest Covers, for use in their new Scenario House and on their Firearms Range.
The new vest will easily identify those is charge while on the range and in the Scenario House, which improves safety for all involved.
Fundraiser at Hilltop Supermarket for Ashley Travis and Kylie Eastin a Big Success
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 15th at Hilltop Supermarket, a community fundraiser was held for Ashley Travis and Kylie Eastin from 9:00am until 2:00pm. There was a car wash, bake sale, games, inflatables, face painting, fire trucks, food and music.
The event was a huge success as the community came out and banded together to raise $23,280 for the girls.
First Baptist Church to host Alzheimer’s Association “Brain Health A to Z” Health Expo August 17th, 2013
Clarksville, TN – The Mid South Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will be putting on a health expo “Brain Health A to Z” Saturday, August 17th at First Baptist Church. This health expo will be open from 9:00am until 1:00pm.
“Brain Health A to Z” is for the community to learn more about brain health and Alzheimer’s disease/dementia. Some may have a loved one with Alzheimer’s, a family history of Alzheimer’s or may just be interested in brain health. Attendees may come and go as they wish.

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for June 16th through June 22nd, 2013
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.
Upcoming events include: Night Hike, Evening Woods Walk, Night Hike and Night Critters, Fireflies, Kids Hike, Insects and so much more!
Austin Peay State University receives Top National Award for improved efforts in Educational Fundraising
Clarksville, TN – Since 2010, Austin Peay State University has encouraged alumni, friends and supporters to give to The Legacy Campaign, the University’s current capital fundraising program that so far has significantly increased millions of dollars for scholarships and educational endeavors.
APSU is being recognized for its efforts with The Legacy Campaign.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, known in the education circle as CASE, has selected APSU to receive the 2013 CASE Educational Fundraising Award, an honor given to superior fundraising programs at educational institutions across the U.S. [Read more]
