Mathews Nissan wins 5th consecutive Nissan Owner First Award of Excellence

Garland and their employees with their 5th consecutive Nissan Owner First Award of Excellence. New Lasaters Coffee Shop opens at Willowchase Shopping Center
Rick and Allison Malone are new business owners. They are the newest franchisees of Clarksville based Lasaters Coffee & Tea. Their store is located in the Willowchase Shopping Center (894 Hwy 76, Suite 101). They opened their doors on April first, and in what was likely taken by some as a savvy businesses April’s fools day joke, offered free drinks to anyone who stopped by the store by that day.
They came to Clarksville through the military. Rick was serving with the 160th Nightstalkers out at the Fort Campbell Army base, and Allison enrolled in the Austin Peay State University’s School of Nursing.
Allison said “We fell in love with Clarksville, Tennessee.” When asked what specifically about Clarksville she loved the most, she identified the diversity of this community. “You have the feel of a big city, but the people are more friendly, They made us fall in love with Clarksville.” she said, “In this city it seems as if everyone knows each other. Everyone has heard of the six degrees of separation theory, but in Clarksville it’s really just three.”
Community leaders presented with economic development award
Executives from Business Facilities magazine visited Clarksville on Tuesday to present community leaders with the publication’s Silver Award for 2009 Economic Deal of the Year. The award was based on Hemlock Semiconductor’s decision to base their $2.5 billion polysilicon plant in Clarksville.
Ted Coene, co-president of Group C Media, the publisher of Business Facilities, and senior account executive Ben Nachsin were on hand to present the award to the Economic Development Council, represented by EDC Chairman Mark Holleman; the Industrial Development Board, represented by current Chairman Bryce Sanders and Past Chairman Sammy Stuard; Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers; and City Mayor Johnny Piper who was represented by City Councilman David Allen, due an unavoidable conflict. F&M Bank Asks Facebook Fans to Vote For Charity Recipients of $2,000
To help determine the recipients of $2,000 in charitable donations, F&M Bank is calling on its Facebook fans. During the month of March, all current and new F&M fans will be given the opportunity to vote for one of eight non-profit organizations listed on the bank’s Facebook page. The two charities receiving the most votes will each be given $1,000. Charity receiving the most Facebook fan votes will be announced April 1.
F&M has offices in eight Middle Tennessee counties: Montgomery, Stewart, Robertson, Sumner, Wilson, Rutherford, Williamson and Putnam. Bank employees from each county nominated local charities from their market area. One charity per F&M market was selected. Those charities now in the running for two F&M $1,000 donations, are:

Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union Announces $1 Million Member Giveback
Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union has just announced that it will be giving $1 million back to its members in patronage dividends this year.
“We have given over $6 million back to members of the credit union over the past 5 years alone and we’re so proud to be able to continue this tradition”, says Stewart Ramsey, President and CEO of Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union.
The over 36,600 members of the credit union can look for the patronage dividend to be deposited into their share savings account the week of December 7th, 2009. F&M Bank Maintains Market Share Top Spot in Montgomery County and MSA

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — According to reports just issued by the FDIC, F&M Bank has maintained its number one ranking for total deposits in Montgomery County for the sixth year in a row. F&M increased its market share in Montgomery County to 19.52% of total deposits, an increase of .56% over last year. GFS Marketplace opens in Clarksville on September 14th

Sales Tax Holiday offers savings for all Tennesseans
Nashville – The Tennessee Department of Revenue reminds shoppers that the 2009 Sales Tax Holiday is scheduled for this Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9.This annual weekend of savings provides three full days of tax breaks on clothing, school and art supplies, and computer purchases. Although the holiday provides savings for back-to-school purchases, anyone can take advantage of the savings this weekend.
The holiday begins Friday, August 7 at 12:01 a.m. and ends Sunday, August 9 at 11:59 p.m. During the designated three-day weekend, consumers will not pay state or local sales tax on select clothing with a price of $100 or less per item, school and art supplies with a price of $100 or less per item, and computers with a price of $1,500 or less. Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry to host annual “Smile Line”
On Friday, August 7th at 11:00a.m. Dr. Ernest J. DeWald, DDS from the Clarksville Dental Center will appear on Talk of the Town on News Channel 5. He will be discussing the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry’s Smile Line. The Smile Line will open on that day from 10am-4pm where a person can call 1-888-747-SMILE, and ask a dentist any dental question they would like. The Smile Line is a way of giving people a chance to ask questions that they are embarrassed to ask their own dentists. F&M Bank Hire Stewart As New Mortgage Lender
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — F&M Bank has announced the addition of Yolanda Stewart as a mortgage lender, working in the bank’s St. Bethlehem office at 2601 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Stewart has been a mortgage lender since 2001, following an extensive military career that culminated at Ft.
