    Manna Café MinistriesClarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries’ “Manna Madness” is winding down. There are just have a few days left to make this the best March ever. They will be at Sams Club Thursday and Friday doing a food drive.

    Don’t forget “Pack The Bus” Friday at B.A. Wolfe Powersports on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard next to Furnish 123. Their goal is to fill the bus with food donations and their food truck will be cooking up some food for donations as well.

    So come out friday and help us close out March with a bang.

    Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – This spring, the Roxy Regional Theatre offers a glimpse of war through the eyes of a Union soldier, a Confederate sympathizer and a mute boy. Ambrose Bierce’s “Civil War Stories” premieres Friday, March 29th, at 8:00pm, for a limited run.

    Celebrated for their intensity, insight and mastery of form, Ambrose Bierce’s collection of stories has been described as one of the great antiwar statements in American literature.

    Spring Fling at Rotary Park to be held April 6th

    2013 Friends of Rotary Park Spring FlingClarksville, TN – Friends of Rotary Park, D.J. Ray Entertainment and Gateway Tire and Service will be hosting Spring Fling at Rotary Park on April 6th from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

    There will be activities for the whole family. Horseshoe and Washer Pits, Crayon and Play-Doh Stations, Bouncy Houses, Sand Volleyball, Pool Noodle Activity Games, Food and Music. There will be a drawing for a $200.00 gift certificate from Gateway Tire and Service.

    All proceeds go right back into Rotary Park in playground renovations and hiking trail improvements.

    Kenwood Elementary School hosts Pennies for Pets Project

    Kenwood Elementary SchoolMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Control received a wonderful donation from Kenwood Elementary School on Friday, March 22nd.

    The school’s Beta Club led the effort, called Pennies for Pets, a three week long service project to help raise money, awareness about animals and collect supplies all benefitting Montgomery County Animal Control.

    Austin Peay State University students do service work in Caribbean during Spring Break

    Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – For the second year in a row, a group of Austin Peay State University students spent their spring break in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago on an intensive service trip.

    This year’s group of 22 students traveled with Dr. Matthew Kenney, director of APSU’s President’s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP), to the small town of Valencia, where they spent a week building three houses with Habitat for Humanity.

    Billy Atkins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Legends Bank, began the celebration by thanking all the employees. He gave special mention to Britney Campbell, their VP of Marketing. “Britney is the one who drove this effort, she told us what to do and we listened,” he joked.

    Austin Peay State University 2013 Asanbe Diversity Symposium to examine Tuskegee airmen

    Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – In the early 1940s, young African-American men from across the country made their way to the town of Tuskegee in southern Alabama. It was a small, rural community with a large Army airfield set up on the outskirts of town.

    That’s where the Tuskegee Advanced Flying School was located.
