Austin Peay State University Nontraditional Student Society to host 2nd annual Governors Ball April 13th
Clarksville, TN – At 6:00pm on April 13th, the Austin Peay State University Nontraditional Student Society (NTSS) will host its second annual Governors Ball in the Morgan University Center Ballroom.

Hilltop Supermarket’s 18th Annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday
Clarksville, TN – Hilltop Super Market will hold their 18th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30th, 2013. Activities begin at 11:00am and the easter egg hunt will begin at 2:00pm sharp.
There will be inflatables, face painting, cupcake decorating, festivities, games, fun and prizes for children of all ages.

APSU’s 52nd annual Mid-South Jazz Festival April 3rd-6th
Clarksville, TN – In 2011, the New York Times published a review of a new jazz album, “Dawn of Goodbye,” by a trumpeter named Dominick Farinacci. The album cover, printed with the article, showed a black and white image of a handsome, but very young-looking, 28-year-old musician. That picture caused some jazz aficionados to assume the album was the work of a novice. The Times review intended to correct that misconception.
“Mr. Farinacci plays beautifully, with expressive control, throughout a program of love-haunted standards and compatible originals, including his yearning title track,” the review stated. “His phrasing attests to some close study of Miles Davis and Clifford Brown, but avoids outright imitation.”

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department annual Spring Eggstravanganza this Saturday
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation annual Spring Eggstravanganza is Saturday, March 30th at Heritage Park Sports Complex.
The fun kicks off at 1:00pm with free activities for children followed by the hunting of over 20,000 candy and prize-filled eggs. The first age group egg hunt begins at 2:15pm sharp.

Clarksville Gas and Water Customer Service Software Upgrade Coming Soon
Service Centers Plan to Close for Day
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water is pleased to announce an exciting customer service software upgrade coming in early April. The final phase of the upgrade is planned for Friday, April 5th, and will require both customer service centers close for the day.

Austin Peay State University Faculty share recent plaudits
Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced a number of publications, conferences and credentials as part of their professional and scholarly activities.
Dr. Larry Hoehn, professor emeritus in mathematics, learned recently that two manuscripts he co-authored were accepted for publication. “A 5-Circle Incidence Theorem” was accepted for the Mathematics Magazine published by the Mathematical Association of America. “Zwei Kreistheoreme für affin–metrische Ebenen” was accepted for publication in German in the Mitteilungen der Mathematischen Gesellschaft publication. «Read the rest of this article»
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host 2013 Clarksville 50+ Olympics May 14th
Clarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until May 3rd for the 2013 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.
This year’s events will be held May 14th-18th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County to present donation to Austin Peay State University for Caribbean project
Clarksville, TN – Earlier this month, a group of 22 Austin Peay State University students traveled to the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago to build three houses for Habitat for Humanity.
