Fresh Coat Painters of Clarksville gives back to Local Veteran
Clarksville, TN – When Rich Whitaker opened his Fresh Coat Painters franchise, he knew he wanted to prioritize giving back to the community. So when the Clarksville Home Builders Association asked him to paint a house for a fellow veteran, there was no question that the answer would be yes.
Whitaker and the team at Fresh Coat Painters of Clarksville recently painted an entire home for Staff Sergeant Adam J. Montavon and his wife, Sasha, free of charge.

Clarksville’s Movies in the Park moves to Liberty Park and features ‘Grease’
Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series, continues Saturday, July 26th, and will be switching locations to Liberty Park, 1190 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, for the rest of the season.
‘Grease,’ rated PG will be shown at approximately 8:15pm (dependent on sunset). Activities begin at 7:15pm and include karaoke with Clarksville Parks and Recreation and soccer demonstrations with the Clarksville Soccer Club.

Non-profit organizations could earn $500 as Riverfest volunteers
Clarksville, TN – Is your non-profit organization looking to earn some cash? The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a $500.00 cash prize to the non-profit organization that provides the most hours volunteered at Riverfest 2014.
Volunteers will be helping with soft drink sales on September 5th and 6th at McGregor Park. Any interested organizations should contact Bethany Benjamin at 931.645.7476 or bethany.benjamin@cityofclarksville.com to participate.

Clarksville’s Kleeman Community Center announces New Fitness Training class coming September 1st
Clarksville, TN – Want to get FIT? The Kleeman Community Center is proud to announce the brand new Fun Interval Training (F.I.T.) class beginning this fall! F.I.T. will kick off on September 1st, 2014, and continue through October 24th at the Kleeman Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.

Clarksville’s Downtown Artists’ Co-op to host Fourth Regional Art Exposition August 7th
Clarksville, TN – The Downtown Artists’ Co-op is hosting its fourth regional art exposition this August. The 2014 Regional Art Exposition will be on display the month of August in the DAC Gallery and is sponsored by Legends Bank and Sango Wine and Spirits.

Clarksville Association of Realtors holds 7th Annual F.U.E.L. Block Party
Clarksville, TN – On May 3rd, 2014, the Clarksville Association of Realtors hosted the 7th Annual F.U.E.L. Block Party and Fundraiser.
It was a community event that was coordinated by the Charity Relations Committee with the assistance of the realtor and affiliate members of the Clarksville Association of Realtors. The Block Party was complete with silent auction, pony rides, inflatables, games, vendors and much more.

Youth earn cash prizes with Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Summer Youth Program and Money Management
Clarksville, TN – Maria Jimenez, local accountant and creator of the “FUN Accounting for Preschoolers” program, issued a challenge to the children of the Summer Youth Program.
Participants in the Clarksville Parks and Recreation program were given the opportunity to develop a business plan for a fictional business or profession of their choosing.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Summer Youth Program participants won cash prizes for developing the best fictional business plan.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office obtains Green Certification
Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, through nearly a year’s worth of extensive planning, changing habits and educating its employees, has obtained Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification.
“We started this project last October, and through the Environmental Task Force we created, we’ve met the requirements to gain certification,” said Sheriff John Fuson.

Sheriff John Fuson unveils the new fleet vehicle, a 2014 Ford Escape that costs less, has a higher mile per gallon rating and is more environmentally friendly.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department receives Green Certification
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department became the latest organization to complete the requirements for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification.
Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and City of Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan were there to congratulate the Clarksville Parks and Recreation employees for their certification.
