Experience the “Wonderful land of Oz” at the 6th Annual Dancing Til Dawn benefit.
Clarksville, TN – Help a great cause while having a great time! Enjoy a night of dinner, dancing and more at the 6th Annual Dancing til Dawn! Dancing til Dawn will be held from 8 p.m. until midnight on Saturday, August 23 at The Franklin Room at F&M Bank. Proceeds will benefit The Dawn Stanfill Foundation.
As part of the evening’s Wizard of Oz themed festivities, guests will be transported to the wonderful land of Oz! Guests can expect fun times, with dancing and a photo booth courtesy of We Bring the Party Events, as well as a silent auction featuring a wide variety of items.

Clarksville, TN – Come join the Roxy Regional Theatre as they celebrate 32 years of live entertainment on the corner of Franklin and First in downtown Clarksville with an evening of great food, fine art and splendid theatre. On Saturday, September 13th, the 32nd Anniversary Roxy Gala will kick off the Roxy Regional Theatre’s 2014-2015 season of professional live theatre.
The theatre’s annual fundraiser will begin at 6:00pm with Harvest Manhattans, compliments of MB Roland Distillery, and a silent auction of diverse and original works by area artists.

Austin Peay State University hosting American Civil Rights documentaries and forums this September
Clarksville, TN – This September, Austin Peay State University’s Felix G. Woodward Library and APSU’s Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center will host four documentaries on the history of civil rights in America.
The films are part of the National Endowment for the Humanities’ (NEH) Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle initiative.

Clarksville Sports Festival offers free day of Sports and Athletics
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will be hosting its fourth-annual Clarksville Sports Festival from 10:00am until 2:00pm on Saturday, August 16th, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located within Liberty Park at 1188 Cumberland Drive, with a variety of sports, athletic and outdoor activities for the entire family.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for August 17th through August 23rd, 2014
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Nature Boot Camp, Nature Readings: Bats, Port Royal Plant Walk, History Hike, Cave Entrance Habitat Study, Float The Red River and Woodland Wildlife.

Ausitn Peay State University Theatre and Dance to present Tony-winning “RED” August 25th-26th
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Theatre and Dance will kick off its 2014-15 season at 7:30pm on August 25th and August 26th in the Trahern Theater with John Logan’s Tony Award-winning play “RED.”
The play, directed by APSU Assistant Professor of Theatre Noel Rennerfeldt, tells the story of famed American painter Mark Rothko and his struggle between artistic integrity and commercialism while painting murals for the Four Seasons restaurant. «Read the rest of this article»
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Liberty Live concert series finishes on August 16th with Chris Robertson
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department introduced Liberty Live!, a new, outdoor concert series in June.
The series will finish its season with a performance by Chris Robertson on Saturday, August 16th, at the Liberty Park Amphitheater, located at 1188 Cumberland Drive.

Austin Peay State University ROTC students named top cadets at summer training program
Clarksville, TN – Three Austin Peay State University students were recognized as outstanding ROTC cadets during last month’s Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) training at Fort Knox, KY.
Ryan Krause and Sean Frazzini were both named the top cadets in their separate regiments during the five-week summer training course.

APSU ROTC Cadets Ryan Krause, Kristin Coughenour and Sean Frazzini were recognized as outstanding ROTC cadets during last month’s Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC) at Fort Knox, KY.

Recycled Fashion Show to make its return to Clarksville’s Riverfest
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Riverfest, the two-day music and arts festival scheduled for September 5th and 6th, 2014 at McGregor Park, is excited to announce the return of the popular Recycled Fashion Show, sponsored by Bi-County Waste Management.
The show is scheduled to take place Saturday, September 6th, 2014 at 4:00pm in the Adventure Zone, and is intended to educate the general public about recycling in a fun and exciting way.
