Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for January 14th through January 18th, 2015
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Night Walk, Winter Trees, Winter Weeds, Bird Hike, and Nature Hike at Port Royal.

Clarksville’s Premier Medical Welcomes Dr. Erin Chambers to Doctors’ Group Practice
Clarksville, TN – Premier Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Erin Chambers to their family practice department.
Dr. Chambers studied at Austin Peay State University and earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed her family medicine residency at University of Tennessee/Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Citizen’s Police Academy class to begin March 17th, 2015
Clarksville, TN – Applications are available for the upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class. The class will start on March 17th, 2015 and end on June 2nd, 2015. The CPA covers all facets of the Clarksville Police Department’s activities, from administration to tactical operations.
Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about the Police Department functions, but also given a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises.

Customs House Museum Hosts Still Life Invitational Exhibition
Clarksville, TN – A still life is a work of art traditionally depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (such as food, flowers, dead animals, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (such as books, vases, jewelry, coins).

Bone Marrow Donor Campaign coming to APSU
Louisville, KY – On January 20th in the Morgan University Center Lobby, Austin Peay State University students and the Clarksville community will have the opportunity to join the bone marrow donor registry and potentially save the life of a patient fighting blood cancer.
Sharing America’s Marrow, a grassroots movement to register 50,000 donors in 2015, is coming through Clarksville as their first stop on their yearlong, 50 state quest around the country.

Montgomery County Extension Office is now accepting applications for the spring Master Gardener course
Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Extension Office is now accepting applications for the spring Master Gardener course. All classes will be held at the Montgomery County Extension office on Wednesday’s from 10:00am – 2:00pm beginning March 4th and ending May 27th.

Acuff Circle now accepting nominates for Ovation Awards
Clarksville, TN – The deadline is fast approaching for nominations for the coveted Acuff Circle of Excellence Ovation Awards in the arts.
The nominees must have made significant contributions to the artistic and cultural life of the Clarksville-Montgomery County community. Anyone can submit nominations. Nominations will be accepted through Tuesday, January 20th. The awards ceremony is March 1st at the Customs House Museum.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Park and Recreation’s 3rd Annual Chocolate Affair is a festive occasion that provides an opportunity for Clarksville’s chocolate-lovers to sample products and enjoy a fun social event. This year it will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015, at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
