Lantern-Lit Evenings and Pioneer Tales Await at Historic Collinsville’s September Event
Clarksville, TN – Historic Collinsville in rural Montgomery County has announced its special “Second Saturday” event for the month of September. Storytelling By Day & By Night will be held on Saturday, September 14th, and will take place in two parts – from 10:00am to 4:00pm and 6:45pm to 8:30pm.
From 10:00am to 4:00pm guests can visit storytelling stations throughout the pioneer settlement during their self-guided tour. Local storytellers and authors have been invited to share true stories from Montgomery County’s past, bringing history to life from the 19th century.

Roxy Regional Theatre’s Season 42 Kicks Off with Matilda The Musical
Clarksville, TN – The wait is nearly over! Season 42 at the Roxy Regional Theatre kicks off this weekend with Roald Dahl’s story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny, Matilda The Musical, opening this Friday, August 23rd, 2024 at 7:00pm.
With its high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, this musical inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl is sure to thrill and delight children and adults alike. Tickets are going quickly for this weekend and are very limited for some performances, so don’t delay in making your reservations!
Directed by Emily Ruck with music direction by Erika Milner and choreography by Eboné Amos, Matilda The Musical stars local youth Aiyana Cotton (playing Matilda on August 23rd, 25th, 30th and 31st at 7:00pm) and Ryan Victoria Nelson (playing Matilda on August 24th, 29th, 31st at 2:00pm and September 1st), and features Ashley Birnbaum as Matilda’s caring teacher Miss Honey, Alex Vanburen as the school headmistress not-to-be-trifled-with Agatha Trunchbull, and Theron Taylor Montgomery and Caitlin Hicks as Matilda’s cruel parents Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood.

Catch Matilda The Musical as It Kicks Off Roxy Regional Theatre’s New Season
Clarksville, TN – Roald Dahl’s “Matilda The Musical”, the story of an extraordinary girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny, kicks off the Roxy Regional Theatre’s 42nd season of live professional theatre on Friday, August 23rd, 2024, at 7:00pm.
With its high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, this musical inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl is sure to thrill and delight children and adults alike.
Directed by Emily Ruck and with music direction by Erika Milner and choreography by Eboné Amos, Matilda The Musical stars local youth Aiyana Cotton and Ryan Victoria Nelson (sharing the title role of Matilda), with Ashley Birnbaum as Matilda’s caring teacher (Miss Honey), Alex Vanburen as the school headmistress not to be trifled with (Agatha Trunchbull), and Theron Taylor Montgomery and Caitlin Hicks as Matilda’s cruel parents (Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood). Rounding out the cast are Madeline Acquaviva, Jena Allen, Armon Davis, Sebastian Fenton, and Jason Sekili, alongside local youth Malin Barnhill, Elisabeth Carroccia, Kenzie Cooper, Kyler Fewox, Zoë Fewox, Bennet Hubbell, Avery Johnson, Scarlett Johnston, CJ Jones, Mallorie Puckett, Natalie Shasserre, Jalen Soto, Asher Zeliadt and Jessa Zeliadt.

Historic Collinsville Announces ‘Family Field Day and Picnic’ Event
Clarksville, TN – Historic Collinsville in rural Montgomery County has announced its special “Second Saturday” event for the month of July. Family Field Day and Picnic will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
The Family Field Day and Picnic event allows visitors to experience games and activities popular in the 19th century. Guests will be able to compete in friendly outdoor games of Tug-o-War, horseshoe pitching, sack races and more.

Clarksville Distillery Triumphs: Old Glory Distilling’s Spirits Shine at International Competition
Clarksville, TN – Old Glory Distilling Co., a family-owned distillery in Clarksville, won two national awards for its locally-made spirits at the 2024 American Spirits Council of Tasters (ASCOT) Awards.
The distillery’s Bottled-in-Bond Tennessee Whiskey was honored with a Double Platinum award, and its Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon secured a Gold award.
The ASCOT Awards, an international spirits competition founded by renowned spirits personality and veteran tasting judge Fred Minnick, is celebrated for its rigorous judging process. Old Glory’s accolades were earned in a blind-tasting competition, pitting their products against some of the world’s top spirits. Old Glory received top marks from judges on appearance, aroma, taste, and finish.

9 to 5: The Musical Opens at Roxy Regional Theatre on June 13th
Clarksville, TN – “Rediscover Your Voice” with an empowering and hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era, 9 to 5: The Musical, opening at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Thursday, June 13th, 2024, at 7:00pm.
Featuring the music of Dolly Parton and based on the hit 1980 comedy film, 9 to 5: The Musical is set in the late 1970s, when three female coworkers are pushed to the boiling point and concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss.
In a hilarious turn of events, Violet (Victoria Wolfe), Judy (Rachel Lind) and Doralee (Dana Cullinane) live out their wildest fantasy — giving their boss the boot! While their boss Franklin Hart (Travis Ulrich) remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

Roxy Regional Theatre announces 2024 Summer Theatre program registration going on now
Clarksville, TN – Registration is now open for the 2024 Summer Theatre Program at the Roxy Regional Theatre.
Since 1995, the Roxy has been introducing youth to the experience of live theatre and expanding their knowledge of the craft through the School of the Arts and Summer Theatre Program.
This June, the Roxy Regional Theatre is hosting four-day youth summer theatre workshops, divided into two age groups, for young artists in the local area to learn from working professionals in the industry.
