TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold Youth Fishing Rodeo this Saturday, June 6th
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 6th, 2015, from 7:30am until 9:30am, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be holding the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at the Liberty Park pond.
The event coincides with Tennessee’s annual Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 7th when anyone may fish free without a license in the state’s public waters.

Flying High 2015 Soars in to Benefit the Customs House Museum
Clarksville, TN – Held the first Saturday of June each year, Flying High is an evening celebrating artists and the works of art of the region. Flying High is Customs House Museum’s preeminent fundraiser of the year, supporting educational and exhibit programming of the Museum.
This year’s event will be held at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center with a theme of Arabian Nights!

Montgomery County, TN – Plato’s Closet recently celebrated becoming a Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified organization.
City of Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Chamber of Commerce President Melinda Shepherd and Montgomery County Public Affairs Officer Elizabeth Black were on hand to congratulate local Plato’s Closet owner, Brandy Vaughn and her team.

Clarksville’s Customs House Museum June 2015 Exhibits and Activities
Clarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is located in historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. Come explore an entire city block featuring large gallery spaces filled with fine art, science and history.

11th Annual Clarksville Writers Conference to be held next week
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council, in partnership with Austin Peay State University and the Tennessee Arts Commission, is pleased to announce the Eleventh Annual Clarksville Writers Conference, being held June 4th and 5th, 2015, on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
We are very honored to have as this year’s keynote speaker Sharyn McCrumb, award-winning Southern writer best known for her Appalachian “Ballad” novels, including the New York Times bestsellers The Ballad of Tom Dooley and She Walks These Hills, and the forthcoming Prayers the Devil Answers.

Photographer Bob Sherman Exhibits at the Customs House Museum
Clarksville, TN – Nashville-based photographer Bob Sherman brings his mystical portraits to the Planters Bank Peg Harvill Gallery at the Customs House Museum this June with the exhibit The Illusion of Person and Place: The Spirit of Asia by Bob Sherman.

Don’t miss the first-ever Fundamental Basketball Day Camp
Clarksville, TN – The Burt-Cobb Community Center is offering the first-ever Fundamental Basketball Day Camp this June! The first day, for ages 6-8 years-old, will be held on Friday, June 5th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The second day, for ages 9-12 years old, will be held on Friday, June 12th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

APSU Governors Games to benefit military alumni, student scholarships
Clarksville, TN – In honor of the military students and their families who help make Austin Peay State University strong, the 2015 APSU Governors Games Powered by CrossFit Clarksville will benefit the APSU Military Alumni Chapter Scholarship Endowment.
All proceeds from the event, which takes place Saturday, August 1st from 8:00am – 7:00pm at Governors Stadium and the Foy Fitness & Recreation Center Pool on the University campus, will fund scholarships to assist those men and women keeping our country safe.
