Registration for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation spring adult softball leagues going on now
Clarksville, TN – Despite the wintery chill, Clarksville Parks and Recreation is gearing up for our spring adult softball leagues.
Registration begins today, Monday, January 25th, 2016 with an organizational meeting scheduled for 3:00pm on Saturday, January 30th at the Burt-Cobb Community Center.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for January 28th – 31st, 2016
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Winter Woods Walk, Kids Discover Bats, Sunset Hike and Port Royal Trail of Tears.

APSU art student conducts behind-the-scenes research at London museums
Clarksville, TN – The Bayeux Tapestry, a medieval embroidery that depicts the Norman invasion of England in 1066, contains such elaborate details that only a male artist could have produced it.
As one critic pointed out, it’s impossible for a woman to have stitched such accurate-looking military weapons and uniforms.

“Little Red Riding Hood and Friends” opens at the Roxy Regional Theatre this Saturday, January 23rd
Clarksville, TN – A trio of clever goats, a big bad wolf, a few resourceful pigs and a little man who spins straw into gold are tagging along with everyone’s favorite crimson-cloaked girl as she heads to the corner of Franklin Street and First Street in downtown Clarksville.
Fairy tales beloved by young and old alike will come to life at the Roxy Regional Theatre in “Little Red Riding Hood and Friends” for three consecutive Saturday afternoons, January 23rd – February 6th.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation partners with APSU Fraternity and Sorority Affairs to offer free after-school tutoring program
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation and APSU Fraternity and Sorority Affairs have joined forces to provide a free after-school tutoring program for youth in the Clarksville community.
The new program, Each One Teach One, is held on Mondays at the Burt-Cobb Community Center from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

The 142th Meeting
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
