APSU sends record nine interns to Tennessee General Assembly

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) this week sent a school record number of legislative interns to the Tennessee General Assembly, which opened its 2019 session on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.

CECA accepting nominations for 2019 Ovation Awards
APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA)
Clarksville, TN – Nominations are being sought for the 2019 Ovation Awards, presented by the Advisory Board of the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA, or “seek-ah”).
The Ovation Awards will take place on Sunday, March 31st, at 2:00pm in the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on the campus of Austin Peay State University.

Philanthropist Evans Harvill was awarded the 2017 George Mabry Ovation Award. This year’s Ovation Awards ceremony is on March 31st at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall at Austin Peay State University.

Downtown Commons to hold Nashville Predators Watch Party, Friday

APSU accepting applications for 2019-20 Military Alumni Chapter scholarships

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is accepting student applications for two Military Alumni Chapter scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year.
The APSU Military Alumni Chapter was founded in October 2012 for the purpose of supporting and recognizing military-related APSU alumni.

APSU Military graduates earn a specially designed coin and cords from Austin Peay in addition to their degrees. Pictured are the December 2018 honorees.

Last Chance to View Exhibits at the Customs House Museum
Customs House Museum and Cultural Center
Clarksville, TN – As December comes to a close, so does some of the exhibits at the Customs House Museum amd Cultural Center. Viewers have until December 31st to take in the photography of Price Harrison and the paintings of award-winning artist Camille Engel.
Nashville-based painter Camille Engel is a self-taught artist known for her hyper-realism nature paintings. Engel works in the “indirect layering” technique of the Dutch Masters to create her art.

Meet the APSU art student who created a moving cardboard chair

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) art student Jeremy Vega utters the phrase often: “I kinda went a bit overboard.”
He used a version of the phrase to describe a robot he built entirely with cardboard: “I kind of went over.”
