    Internationally renowned Gomalan Brass Quintet to visit APSU

    Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Internationally renowned brass group the Gomalan Brass Quintet is making its first tour stop of 2019 – and its first and only scheduled stop in America – at Austin Peay State University (APSU).

    The Italy-based group will perform 7:30pm Saturday, January 26th at APSU’s George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall, at Eighth and Marion streets.

Matthew Deric Gore’s exhibition, Setting the Stage, brings to life trinkets and flowers within moody, dark backgrounds of shadowed wallpapers.

    Strange pairings make for interesting narratives for the viewer’s imagination in Gore’s realistic style of painting.

    APSU first college in country to have Chick-fil-A kiosks

    Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) students returning to campus this week will notice something different in the Morgan University Center’s food court – several state-of-the-art digital kiosks in front of the venue’s Chick-fil-A.

    The ordering stations are part of a new, $257,000 renovation of the restaurant, and the APSU location marks the first time Chick-fil-A has installed the kiosks on a college campus.

    Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the seventeenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 18th – February 2nd.

    This year, members of the theatre’s professional company and special guests from the community will take the stage of theotherspace, the 50-seat black-box theatre located upstairs at the Roxy, in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships and violence against women.

    Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – This January, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) The New Gallery, with support from the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the APSU Department of Art + Design, will continue its exciting 2018-19 exhibition season with Patrick Vincent: Vanishing Islands.

    The exhibit opens Monday, January 14th and runs through February 8th. Vincent will give a public lecture on his work at 6:00pm on February 5th in the APSU Art + Design Building’s Heydel Hall.

Austin Peay State University (APSU) officials on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 unveiled the first of three helicopters in its new rotor-wing fleet. The helicopters bolster the state’s first and only aviation science program with a rotor-wing concentration.

    Downtown Commons Ice RinkMontgomery County, TN – The public is invited to attend the second annual Broomball match between Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Fort Campbell’s Major General Andrew Poppas to a backyard broomball game on January 16th, 2019 at 6:00pm at the Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink.

    Broomball is a variation of ice hockey played on ice without skates and with brooms and a ball instead of sticks and a puck. Running around in shoes on ice while trying to “sweep” a ball into a goal presents a unique challenge that includes a lot of slipping, sliding and falling.

    Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will celebrate the third anniversary of Clarksville’s popular bike share program, Clarksville BCycle, with free bike rides. Third-year milestones include 9,600 trips that covered almost 65,000 miles and allowed riders to burn 2.5 million calories.

    Residents are invited to use the promo code “1320” when checking out a bike from one of Clarksville BCycle’s five stations from January 13th-20th to receive a free 60-minute bike ride. Usage fees apply after the first hour.
