About Faces and Braces becomes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified
Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program welcomed About Faces and Braces to the Program on Friday, December 13th, 2019. A green ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the occasion.
The ribbon cutting was attended by Green Certification Program Board Members Melinda Shepard, Haley Randell and Jessica Banker; Green Certification Program Manager Carlye Sommers and Dr Candice Coleman and the About Faces and Braces team.

About Faces and Braces began the journey to Green Certification in early 2019.
During the certification process, its staff evaluated paper usage, recycling and energy efficiency. Today the offices have greatly reduced paper use by switching to electronic forms and documentation. A water dispenser was installed to reduce single use plastics and they are converting to LED lighting.
During the ribbon cutting Dr. Coleman said “Recycling and reusing can be challenging in a dental practice, particularly in the clinic. Through the Program we evaluated our waste and found ways to make changes.”
One major change was the switch to digital impressions. This not only reduced the material waste but also significantly reduced the number of items that need to be transported through mail. About Faces and Braces also joined a pilot program to send used and unused clear aligners back to the manufacturer to be melted down for other purposes.
The green ribbon cutting was held at the About Faces and Braces location on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
In addition to this office, About Faces and Braces has a second Clarksville location at Rudolphtown, as well as offices in Springfield and Bellevue. The offices provide orthodontic treatment to both children and adults.
