Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces annual Christmas Parade to be held December 7th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces that on Saturday, December 7th, the 60th annual Christmas parade, hosted by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, will be at 5:00pm in Downtown Clarksville.

The family of the late Mike Robinson, wife Rhonda Robinson and children Bryce, Bayleigh and Carly Robinson, will be this year’s grand marshals. Mike Robinson passed in August from cancer. He was a popular local musician, coach and most importantly a husband and father.

APSU’s Full Spectrum Learning offers support to students with autism spectrum disorder

In 2016, the Nashville State Community College student was looking to earn her bachelor’s degree, and she found a university in another part of Tennessee with a program that assisted students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold Handmade Holiday, November 9th-10th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will host Handmade Holidays, a two-day, indoor juried craft market featuring more than 60 of the best local and independent artists, designers and crafters.

The eighth annual Handmade Holidays will be from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Saturday, November 9th and from noon to 4:00pm, Sunday, November 10th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Shoppers can expect to find seasonal décor, ceramics, woodworking, metalwork, apparel, jewelry, soaps, toys, fabric crafts, candies, edibles, children’s accessories and more.

Clarksville Transit System’s Paul Nelson named Director

Clarksville Transit SystemClarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System (CTS) senior manager Paul Nelson, who has served as Interim Director since July, has been selected as CTS Director, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts announced.

“Paul has been involved in many aspects of our CTS operation for several years, and he stepped up and did a fine job as Interim Director,” Mayor Pitts said.

Cumberland Winds Jazz Project presents 1940s Radio Days at the Roxy Regional Theatre on November 22nd and 23rd

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – With a nod to yesteryear, the Cumberland Winds Jazz Project is teaming with Clarksville’s oldest professional live theatre, the Roxy Regional Theatre, this fall to recreate an old-time radio show from the 1940s.  

Traditional big band music will combine with radio skits, vintage advertisements and maybe a war newsflash or two at “The Jazz Project: 1940s Radio Days” at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, November 22nd, and Saturday, November 23rd, at 7:30pm.
