Clarksville Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC)Clarksville, TN – Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC) is proud to announce our 6th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition. The exhibit will feature many of the best amateur and professional photographers from the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky region.

This photography exhibit features multiple categories and styles of photography. Entries range from modern digital photography, to traditional B&W film and alternative process photography. Subject matter includes landscape, nature, portrait and figure, still life and experimental.

Clarksville Realtors(R) Sold 11.9% More Homes in December 2016 than in December 2015

Clarksville Association of REALTORSClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Association of Realtors® (CAR) reports that 11.9% more homes were sold in December 2016 than in December 2015. In December there were 365 properties sold, while in November 2015, there were 324 properties sold.

For December, the average price of properties currently for sale was $204,650, which is 8.32% greater than the December 2014 average of just over $188,301.

Montgomery Central High School - MCHS - IndiansCunningham, TN – Students from the Montgomery Central High School Academy of Plant and Animal Systems were named Best in State winners of the fifth annual Verizon Innovative Learning app challenge.

Howard’s Hope teams with Clarksville Parks and Recreation to provide Free Swim Lessons

Howard's HopeClarksville, TN Howard’s Hope has partnered with Clarksville Parks and Recreation to offer free swim lessons to Montgomery county children between the ages of 3 – 12 years old.

The Howard’s Hope “Flying Fish” program focuses on preventing juvenile drownings in Tennessee by funding swim lessons for children residing in economically disadvantaged households.

The funds for the Flying Fish program are provided by a grant from BlueCross BlueShield Tennessee Health Foundation and donations from private and corporate citizens throughout the United States.

APSU students perform service work in Caribbean over winter break

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – A group of Austin Peay State University students recently spent a week during winter break in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago, volunteering their time during an annual intensive service trip.

This year’s group of 18 students traveled with Dr. Matthew Kenney, director of Austin Peay’s President’s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP), to the small town of La Romain, where they worked with Habitat for Humanity on a local housing project.
