Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation has partnered with The Roxy Regional Theater to bring their “Seussical The Musical” to this year’s Father-Daughter Date Night!

Fathers and their daughters are invited to the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Saturday, April 1st from 5:30pm – 8:30pm to enjoy the dinner and a show followed by crafts, photo booth and dancing.

The library holds a Sensory Story time on the first Saturday of every month from 10:30am to 11:30am. Upcoming dates include February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th.

Kenwood High School to hold 3rd Annual Charity Basketball Game, January 27th

Kenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – On Friday, January 27th, Kenwood High School (KHS) will hold its 3rd annual charity basketball game. This year’s theme is “Waging War Against Cancer.” All money raised will be donated in memory of Josh Artis to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to aide in the fight against childhood cancers.

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Kenwood High School consulted Josh’s family to choose the charity for this game.

Josh Artis was a well-known member of the local community who was committed to working with youth. Josh lost his own battle with cancer last year and Kenwood wished to continue his legacy of helping others.

Austin Peay State University students performed service work in New Orleans during winter break

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – A group of Austin Peay State University students spent a week volunteering on Alternative Break Trips through the APSU Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement at the end of the winter break.

Collectively, these students completed more than 200 hours of community service with several organizations in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Austin Peay Students worked with the New Orleans Audubon Nature Institute and volunteered with many of its branches, including the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Center for Research of Endangered.
