Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Hospital. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

Austin Peay Service-Learning Class helps student join Tennessee Theatre Association’s Board of Directors
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University student Emily Horton was recently appointed to the Tennessee Theatre Association’s (TTA) Board of Directors as a student representative.
Horton worked with the TTA last semester as part of an APSU service-learning course.
All Kids Welcome! New Playground and Splash Pad Preparing for Grand Opening
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville is proud to announce the grand opening of the city’s first all-inclusive splash pad and playground at Heritage Park, located at 1241 Peachers Mill Road.
The grand opening will take place Thursday, May 26th at 10:00am at the park.
Montgomery County to hold Public Forum on Environmental Sustainability Plan, May 24th
Montgomery County, TN – On Tuesday, May 24th, the public is invited to share their ideas on sustainability at a public forum, at William O. Beach Civic Hall, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Members of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Task Force, a subsidiary of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program, are in the process of creating a community Environmental Sustainability Plan and need public input.
Montgomery County’s Civitan Park to host Professional Horseshoe Tournament May 21st-22nd
Clarksville, TN – For horseshoe pitching enthusiasts, the 2016 HP Pro Tour Open Horseshoe Tournament will be making its way to Montgomery County’s Civitan Park May 21st-22nd.
The HP Pro Tour is a series of horseshoe pitching tournaments where competitors try to get as many ringers as possible and walk away with big cash prizes.
New playground and restroom facilities to be unveiled at Edith Pettus Park
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Office of Housing and Community Development will unveil two additions to Edith Pettus Park, located at 345 Farris Drive, during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, May 16th at 2:00pm.
Clarksville Garden of Hope Community Garden Now Accepting Applications
Clarksville, TN – Vegetables aren’t the only things that grow in the Garden of Hope in Clarksville. Hope grows there too.
The mission of the program is to grow and distribute fresh produce to local food banks and help feed hungry people in our community. Giving gardens like the Garden of Hope provides local residents opportunities to make a difference and connect to the environment.
Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library “Food for Fines” to be held May 16th-27th
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library is bring back its Food for Fines food drive program that will allow library customers to exchange canned goods and other select foods for library overdue fines.
Food for Fines benefits Manna Cafe and will be held May 16th-May 27th, 2016 at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library.
Jazz on the Lawn kicks off this Saturday, May 14th at Beachaven Winery
