Clarksville Travel Ball hosts Cumberland Bank & Trust Memorial Tournament this weekend at RichEllen Park
Clarksville, TN – This weekend, May 28th and 29th, USSSA baseball presents the Cumberland Bank & Trust Memorial Tournament. Teams from Tennessee and Kentucky will be playing on Saturday and Sunday at RichEllen Park.
Pool schedules will be posted on the USSSA website by Thursday morning. We will also post the schedule on FaceBook for your convenience.
We encourage everyone to come out this weekend for some great baseball from our 10U – 12U age groups.

Clarksville, TN – Two Austin Peay State University professors have been awarded summer research grants to further their development as both educators and professionals in their fields.
Associate Professor of Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies Dr. Osvaldo Di Paolo Harrison and Associate Professor of Music, Voice Dr. Jeffrey Williams have each been awarded $5,000 summer research grants by APSU’s Department of Research to develop research projects during the summer, that may place them in a better position to seek external funding.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Adult Literacy Council to hold Sign Language Class
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Adult Literacy Council will offer a FREE 3-week Basic Sign Language Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays Starting Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 – Thursday, June 30th, 2016.
Classes will start at 1:00pm.
Austin Peay State University’s Barry Gresham wins national award at 2016 Festival of Media Arts
Clarksville, TN – Barry Gresham, Austin Peay State University instructor of communication, recently received a national award at the Broadcast Education Association’s annual convention in Las Vegas. Gresham won the Faculty Short Form Sports Video Category: Best of Competition for his video, “Reedy Sears – APSU Hall of Fame.”
Clarksville-Montgomery County Adult Literacy Council offers Free Computer Lab for Adults
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Adult Literacy Council is holding free computer lab for adults wanting to improve their computer skills.
On Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Advanced computer skills with the option of certification is held.

Clarksville, TN – The FOMC minutes from the April 26th-27th policy meeting showed that “most [meeting] participants judged that if incoming data were consistent with economic growth picking up in the second quarter, labor market conditions continuing to strengthen, and inflation making progress toward the Committee’s 2 percent objective, then it likely would be appropriate for the Committee to increase the target range for the federal funds rate in June.”
However, “participants expressed a range of views about the likelihood that incoming information would make it appropriate to adjust the stance of policy at the time of the next meeting.”
Acuff Circle to honor longtime performer Marge Lillard at Jazz in June event
Clarksville, TN – Jazz in June, The Acuff Circle of Excellence’s annual celebration of the arts with jazz, food and wine, will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, June 20th, at Beachaven Vineyards and Winery. The public is invited to attend.
At this event, longtime Clarksvillian Marge Lillard will be honored for her contributions on the stage as an actor and dancer. She’ll receive the Full Circle Award, presented annually to a living Tennessean who has had a consequential impact on arts and culture in Montgomery County over many years of direct involvement through innovative work, philanthropy or leadership. The recipient is selected by the Acuff Circle of Excellence Advisory Board.
Clarksville Downtown Market opens this Saturday, May 21st
Clarksville, TN – This Saturday, May 21st, the Clarksville Downtown Market opens with approximately 70 vendors on hand offering local fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, milk, home décor, seasonal flowers and more.
The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday through October 8th, 2016 on the Public Square in the City Hall Parking Lot.

Gospel Concert with Lydia Walker at Heart & Soul Church

APSU student Paul Watkins pursues research on hybrid of math, art

Austin Peay State University math major Paul Watkins does not resemble the “traditional” math student – with long hair and an even longer beard, Watkins looks more like the type who would be at home in an art studio.
