Dunbar Cave State Park to hold First Day Hike Thursday, January 1st
Clarksville, TN – Begin the first day of the new year at Dunbar Cave with their first hike through the woods and around the lake on the two mile Recovery Trail on January 1st, 2014. The hike starts at 11:00am.
Enjoy the winter woods as we look for deer, birds and other creatures and learn about the plants and animals of the park.
Manna Café to distribute cold weather provisions
Clarksville, TN – Today and Thursday, December 31st and January 1st, the Refuge emergency shelter (635 Frosty Morn Drive) will be distributing cold-weather provisions (such as blankets, coats, etc.) to those in need.

CTS offers Safe Ride on New Year’s Eve
Clarksville, TN – On New Year’s Eve, the Clarksville Transit System will again offer safe rides home.
“Operation Safe Ride” is a free service open to anyone who is too impaired to drive home. People who live within the Clarksville city limits can call 931.553.2429 for a ride home between the hours of 11:00pm and 4:00am.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Indoor Aquatic Center to begin Homeschool Swim Days
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a new event for homeschooled children at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
Homeschool Swim Days will be held from 10:00am to noon on the second Wednesday of each month, beginning January 14th, 2015.

Thomas Dodd Brings Surreal Works to the Customs House Museum
Clarksville, TN – The mythical figures in Thomas Dodd’s exhibit Dreamer: The Art of Thomas Dodd turn the Customs House Museum’s Orgain Gallery into a forest of fairytales.
The viewer is immediately transported into a surreal fantasy of contemporary stories within each work of art.
