Miller-Motte Technical CollegeClarksville, TN – Miller-Motte Technical College’s Career Services office is full of boxes. MMTC is dressing their students for success. “Suit-Up for Success,” is a benefit provided to all Miller-Motte students and once every quarter suits overrun the Career Services office.

The program provides each student with a free suit to wear upon graduation when seeking employment. Suit-Up for Success ensures that every student can feel confident when they go on interviews.

For the 10th consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at APSU is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.

USS LST 325 docks in Clarkville at McGregor Park Boat Ramp

USS LST 325Clarksville, TN – This afternoon, September 25th, the USS LST 325 made it’s way down the Cumberland River from Nashville and docked at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp around 3:00pm. Crews began tying the boat off to the banks and preparing it for tomorrows tours. The ship will be available for tours September 26th-30th.

The LST (Landing Ship, Tank) is a floating monument to the past. The ship was used in various missions in World War II including the invasion of Sicily. Visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship as the crew provides a glimpse into her past.

Russ Shemberger takes 2nd overall at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park 5K run

Restore Performance MassageClarksville, TN – Russ Shemberger, a licensed massage therapist at Restore Performance Massage on Madison Street in Clarksville, placed second overall and won his age group (45-49) at the Run Through the Forest 5K held Saturday, September 22nd at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs, KY.

A veteran triathlete, Shemberger recently finished the triathlon season and is now training for the Bowling Green Half-Marathon in Bowling Green, Ky, along with a number of 5K races.
