Planters Bank Hilldale Gallery to display Minister’s Creative Diversity

September 1, 2012 | Print This Post

Planters BankClarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature the artistic works of Rev. Lyndel Littleton September 6th-October 3rd.

Littleton, the worship pastor at Hilldale Baptist Church, has been creating musical things as long as he can remember. In this role, he creates special musical events such as the church’s annual “Living Christmas Tree” and “Passion Play.” Over the years, many of his music compositions for handbells and choirs have been published by various music companies.

He enjoys singing, conducting, and playing piano and violin. Even though his main creative expressions have been with music, he has always loved to express himself through art too.

Littleton’s first creative outlet beyond music began when he took a class on making leaded stained-glass pieces over 25 years ago. Since then, he has made hundreds of glass pieces: some as gifts, many sold in his Etsy store, and many for his own enjoyment in his home. Now and then he teaches a class and helps students create their own stained-glass piece.

In December of 2006 Littleton began expanding his area of art creation. His church choir (he was not at Hilldale at the time) gave him a gift certificate for art supplies and an eight-week painting class. That was just the spark he needed to start painting regularly. He began in oils, added watercolors and acrylics, and has recently started working with pastels.

Littleton’s artwork will be on display at the Planters Bank – Hilldale Gallery at 1971 Madison Street from September 6th through October 3rd. The public is invited to an opening reception on Thursday, September 6th with Littleton at the branch from 10am-Noon. His work can also be viewed on his website at www.bearhollowcreations.blogspot.com.

The exhibit is open to the public during regular bank hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday.
