Female Version of the “Odd Couple” Opens at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell’s entry in the 2011 U.S. Army Festival of the Arts Competition is “The Odd Couple” (female version) written by Neil Simon and directed by Art Conn. Performances are scheduled for August 19th, 20th and 26th at the Dale Wayrenen Recreation Center on Desert Storm Avenue.

Each year the U.S. Army Festival of the Arts Competition sends judges to all Army installations in the U.S. and abroad to judge the theater and recreation center talent shows with winners announced later in the year. Conn has been directing the Fort Campbell entries for the past 15 years, winning numerous awards for directing over the years.

“The Odd Couple” (female version) stars Jan Dial and Roxanne Waite as the female versions of Felix and Oscar from the well known male version. The poker players have been replaced by Trivial Pursuit® players played by Debbie Striclyn, Melissa Schaffner, Jennifer Kinsey and Amy Anderson. Instead of the Pigeon sisters, the romantic pursuers are the Costazuela brothers played by Menzo Faassen and Jeff Wellington.

Tickets for the August 19th and 20th performances are $5.00 with dessert served at intermission. Tickets for the August 26th performance are $15.00 and $25.00 for couples and includes dinner and show. Showtimes are 7:00pm with dinner served at 6:00 on August 26th.
