Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department will open a portion of Liberty Park for Memorial Day Weekend. Approximately 40 parking spots will be available for vehicles and boat trailers. Patrons will not be allowed to park on the surrounding grass areas. Clarksville Police officers will be onsite to assist with traffic control, parking and boating safety.

Clarksville Parks & Recreation would like to remind patrons that the Marina Basin, located near the boat ramp and docks, is a strict “No Wake Zone,” and all boating regulations must be observed. To verify boating regulations please consult the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s website at www.tn.gov/twra/boatingregs.html.

The boat ramp and boat docks are the only portions of Liberty Park that will be open to the public at this time. Citizens are asked to not enter the park except to use the boat ramps.

“We recognize that the citizens of Clarksville-Montgomery County are an active boating community, and to open this dock and ramp will allow many more to safely enjoy our waters, especially on a holiday weekend, said Mark Tummons, director of Parks & Recreation. “However, Liberty Park as a whole is an ongoing construction site; only the entrance road and boat ramp will be open. Our anticipation is that various portions of the park will open during the next few months to more than just boaters.”

For more details on the Liberty Park Boat Ramp opening, please contact the Clarksville Parks and Recreation at 931-645-7476 or visit www.cityofclarksville.com.
