Pastor Freeman of Greater Missionary Baptist Chuch awarded the Community Spirit of Excellence Award

On Sunday, the Clarksville Convenient Shopper Magazine along with several other area businesses honored Pastor Willie J. Freeman of Greater Missionary Baptist Church with a “Community Spirit of Excellence Award.” Treva Gordon the CEO/Founder of Convenient Shopper Magazine and the woman behind Clarksville’s Unity Day, said, “This award is given to choice citizens who strive to make a difference in our community, demonstrates goodwill, as well as the promotion of Unity in the Community.”

Each month, one pastor or leader in the community will be celebrated for their outstanding achievement, all leading up to the Celebration of Unity Day 2011. The purpose of Convenient Shopper Unity Day is to further unite our Clarksville/Ft. Campbell community and to celebrate the accomplishments of our diverse leadership; to include pastors and non-profit organizations. The next Celebration of Unity Day is June 4th, 2011. Convenient Shopper will continue to pay tribute and celebrate great leaders who strive for Excellency in the traditional spirit of unity. Unity Day is created with a focus on family values and multiculturalism.

As part of the award ceremony the sponsoring businesses presented Pastor Freemen with gifts as a means of honoring him for his good works in our community. The following businesses were represented:
