Featuring Dr. Eva Gibson, Dr. Monique Freemon, Harold Wallace III, Frances Hubbard, Sherman Wilson, and Treva R. Gordon, the film addresses Colorism, the practice of favoring lighter skin over darker skin.

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday Hilldale Baptist Church played host to third annual Unity Day celebration. The goal of Unity Day is to build a stronger community by recognizing and joining together religious, governmental and business leaders in fellowship.
Unity Day was founded by Treva Gordon, the owner and publisher of the Convenient Shopper Magazine. “I was watching an awards show on television and I was so inspired by the way they honored the pop star’s and the rap artists. It was wonderful; they had the gift bags, bling bling, the limos, and everything that went with it. That was awesome!” she said to herself.

Clarksville, TN – The Young Daughters of Destiny in conjunction with the Convient Shopper Magazine are putting on a production of Stand at the Roxy Regional Theatre on August 6th 2011 at 5:00pm. The show will be directed by Treva Gordon and features a youth cast with kids from ages 5 to 25 playing the parts. The play deals deals with various crisis that the kids may face in their own lives such as:Teen Preganacy, Bullying, Suicide, and includes an important message for parents, “Why don’t you listen to me.”

Clarksville, TN – Remnant of Faith is hosting their 10th annual Stomp-fest for Christ! Stomp Fest weekend is June 17th and 18th. Friday June 17th is “Holy Hip Hop Night. Several artists from Nashville, Clarksville, and Hopkinsville will perform some of their popular contemporary Gospel songs. J-Rad, an upcoming signed artist, will be featured.

The play is based on the book written by Camilla Vargas. It is produced, written, and directed by Treva R. Gordon; with writing assistance by Lavon Bravy. Associate directors include Alphonse & Benetta Prather, Lavon Bracey, and Jacqueline Lisenby.
Guess What I Heard is not your ordinary gospel music theatrical play. Comprised of 6 vignettes that touch on stalking in a relationship, baby momma drama, spousal cheating, spousal abuse, self esteem, & suicide. Freeman of Greater Missionary Baptist Church with a “Community Spirit of Excellence Award.” Treva Gordon the CEO/Founder of Convenient Shopper Magazine and the woman behind Clarksville’s Unity Day, said, “This award is given to choice citizens who strive to make a difference in our community, demonstrates goodwill, as well as the promotion of Unity in the Community.”

The 2010 Unity Day Ceremony held in Clarksville, Tennessee on Sunday June 6th. The event is the brainchild of Treva Gordon, the Founder and Publisher of the Convenient Shopper an advertising supported bi-monthly magazine. However, during the evenings ceremonies Clarksville Mayor Johnny Piper announced that Unity Day would be officially recognized by the City each year.
