Housing incentives a big hit in Clarksville

City of Clarksville, Tennessee Housing Development Agency thank lenders for helping homebuyers

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN –  Several local lenders and real estate professionals received a hearty “thank you” this week from Ralph Perrey, executive director of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, for their effectiveness in helping homebuyers use THDA programs.

Earlier this year, THDA announced a new program — Hardest Hit Fund Down Payment Assistance (HHF-DPA) program — which offers an additional $15,000 to homebuyers who use a THDA Great Choice mortgage to purchase a home in neighborhoods hard hit by the 2009 national economic downturn and have been slower to recover.

Unity Day last Weekend United the City of Clarksville for At Least One Day

Clarksville Unity DayClarksville, TN – On Saturday Hilldale Baptist Church played host to third annual Unity Day celebration. The goal of Unity Day is to build a stronger community by recognizing and joining together religious, governmental and business leaders in fellowship.

Unity Day was founded by Treva Gordon, the owner and publisher of the Convenient Shopper Magazine. “I was watching an awards show on television and I was so inspired by the way they honored the pop star’s and the rap artists. It was wonderful; they had the gift bags, bling bling, the limos, and everything that went with it. That was awesome!” she said to herself.

The 2010 Unity Day Ceremony

The 2010 Unity Day Ceremony held in Clarksville, Tennessee on Sunday June 6th. The event is the brainchild of Treva Gordon, the Founder and Publisher of the Convenient Shopper an advertising supported bi-monthly magazine. However, during the evenings ceremonies Clarksville Mayor Johnny Piper announced that Unity Day would be officially recognized by the City each year.

Dr. Jones is currently has the longest running TV show on cable TV for more than three decades…‘The Bobby Jones Gospel Show.’ We will also celebrate and recognize Clarksville’s diverse leadership by honoring several local pastors and non-profit organizations in our community.

F&M Bank Hire Stewart As New Mortgage Lender

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — F&M Bank has announced the addition of Yolanda Stewart as a mortgage lender, working in the bank’s St. Bethlehem office at 2601 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. Stewart has been a mortgage lender since 2001, following an extensive military career that culminated at Ft. Campbell. In addition to her F&M lending responsibilities, Stewart continues military service as an Army Reserve officer and assistant professor in the Military Science Department at Austin Peay State University where she trains future officers enrolled in the school’s ROTC program.

Before joining F&M, she was employed as a senior mortgage banker for Elite Home Loans, Inc., in Brentwood. She has also worked as a mortgage originator for Master Lending, LLC of Nashville and Residential Mortgage Company, LLC in Clarksville.
