Clarksville’s Frank and Connie Fisher win 22nd Annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament

Buchanan, TN – On Saturday, May 14th, the 22nd annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament was held on Kentucky Lake. Boats launched from Paris Landing State Park at 6:00am. There were 187 boats competing for $12,000 in prize money.
Although the forecast was for a clear, sunny day, the start of the tournament was anything but. Clouds rolled in, the wind kicked up making for a cold morning with a lot of chop on the water. As the day went on, the clouds departed and the sunny weather promised presented itself.
Husband/wife team of Frank and Connie Fisher from Clarksville came in First Place at 21st Annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament.

Clarksville, TN – The 21st annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament will be held 6:00am, Saturday, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park.
Twelve thousand dollars in prize money will be awarded with a guaranteed first-place prize of $5,000. Second-place is guaranteed $1,500. Third and fourth-place will receive $1,000 and $600.00, respectively. The top 25 places will receive prizes.

Clarksville, TN – As final remnants of last week’s snow and ice storm quickly melt away and temperatures rise into the 60s, it is a reminder the 21st annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just around the corner.
This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 16th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney drew 227 boats.

WJZM Radio transfers Ownership

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s original radio station, WJZM1400am, has transferred ownership. In a joint announcement this week, previous owner, Hank Bonecutter, said he had agreed to sell the corporation to local businessmen David Loos Jr, Greg Walker, and Mike Parchman. The sale became official on Tuesday.
“My wife and I are extremely excited about the sale,” said Bonecutter. “We have put a lot of hard work into WJZM, and this opportunity only comes along once in a lifetime to go out on your terms. I have dedicated my broadcasting career to the Clarksville-Fort Campbell community, bringing news, sports and current events to the public as reliable and credible as I can be. 18th Annual Governors Bass Tournament set for May 12th

Clarksville, TN – The 18th Annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just around the corner.
This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 12th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing State Park near Paris, TN. Last season’s tourney was postponed one week from May 22nd, due to high waters and flooding that enveloped the area. Despite the delay, the tourney still drew 243 boats.
