Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation this Friday, September 2nd, at Heritage Park Soccer Fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring a double screening of “New Moon” and “Eclipse” on a giant blow-up screen under the stars. Both are rated PG-13.

The first movie will begin around 7:30pm, with pre-show activities beginning an hour prior. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. As always, you are welcome to bring your picnic basket, but concessions will be available.

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – After months of collecting votes, Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the final movie of the 2011 season and the people’s choice movie winner – “The Wizard of Oz”. The movie will be shown Saturday, October 8th.

This year’s season of Movies in the Park inaugurated a new People’s Choice night where the public nominated movies they wanted to see. After the nomination period was over, the voting began. The movie with the most votes won.

Come down to McGregor Park Tonight and Celebrate Independence Day

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Aetna Insurance are joining together to celebrating our nation’s independence with the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration tonight down at McGregor Park. The event will be filled with food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. It all starts 6:00pm.

Local performers Tina Brown and Chris Robertson will provide live music throughout the evening, followed by country music artist, John Anderson. With more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, Anderson has five Number Ones: “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’,” “Black Sheep,” and “Money in the Bank.” The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale, the largest in Clarksville.

The second Magic at the Museum show is scheduled for Saturday evening, and tickets are still available!

The main stage show starts at 8:00pm. After a very successful first event that was geared towards children, this “Magic” event will appeal more to an adult audience.
