Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s New Providence Pool open for indoor season

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, October 1st, 2019, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s New Providence Pool, the only public indoor pool in the City of Clarksville, opened for its fall and winter indoor season.

New Providence Pool is at 168 Cunningham Lane, off Fort Campbell Boulevard. The pool offers swim lessons, water fitness classes, lap swim, and open recreational swimming through May 3rd, 2020. The facility also offers a children’s pool area, a climbing wall, inflatables, diving board, and a concession stand to purchase drinks and snacks. An ADA accessible hydraulic lift chair allows those with special needs to enjoy the pool.

Indoor Aquatic Center will be operate on a new schedule for the remainder of the season

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation would like to announce that the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will begin closing at 6:00pm on Fridays beginning March 1st to allow for private pool rentals.

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to enjoy the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, this fall and winter! The Indoor Aquatic Center opens its doors for the Indoor Season on Monday, October 1st.

Enjoy a day of free admission, refreshments and free Wibit and Aqua Climb access on Opening Day from 7:00am to 12:00pm and 3:00pm until 8:00pm.

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Don’t miss the first day of Indoor Swimming Season this Saturday, October 1st! The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, opens its doors for the season at 10:00am.

Patrons can check out the Indoor Aquatic Center, also referred to as “The Dome”, for free on opening day! The Dome will also debut the “Aqua Run” wibit, a floating inflatable obstacle course, on opening day. [Read more]

Mayor Kim McMillan to Announce Fitness Council Members

Following the City Council’s approval on July 7th to establish the Fitness Council, McMillan will appoint the members to the new board, which will take a pro-active, multi-faceted approach to helping residents achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle via education, becoming more active and proper nutrition. Free Pool Membership to be Given Away at the Indoor Aquatic Center Grand Opening

Clarksville, TN – The New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has a new look and new name. After weeks of work and just hours of inflation, the pool is now sheltered with a bubble like dome which will allow for year-round use of the Indoor Aquatic Center.

The “Dive in the Dome” grand opening is still scheduled for tomorrow, January 29th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm but due to snow and frigid temperatures, the inflation of the dome was delayed from its schedule this week and visitors looking to take a swim will experience much cooler water temperatures than expected. Pools Now Open- NEW Swim Classes Available. The first session of swim classes began, June 14th.

This year we are offering Senior Splash which consists of a 45 minute workout for those ages 50 and up. This class combines gentle, yet effective aerobic exercises to help tone and strengthen muscles. Basic Water Aerobics is also available for anyone ages 18 and up. This 45 minute class is aimed at improving tone, strength and mobility.

Get your child accustomed to the water at an early age with our Mommy/Daddy and Me class. Recommended for children 6-36 months. [Read more]
