Montgomery County Election Commission Reminds Citizens that September 24th is National Voter Registration Day

Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Election Commission wishes to remind citizens that September 24th is National Voter Registration Day.
The day is the high point of National Voter Registration Month, a time when state and county election officials have been working to encourage voter participation and increase awareness of state requirements and deadlines for voting.

Montgomery County Election Commission Reminds Voters to Present Photo ID at the Polls
Montgomery County, TN – Early voting began on Wednesday, February 15th, giving registered voters the opportunity to cast ballots for the March 6th Presidential Preference Primary. This is the first statewide election in which voters are required to show photo identification prior to casting their ballots.

Kim McMillan sworn in as Clarksville Tennessee’s first female Mayor

Clarksville, TN – Before a standing room only crowd at the Roxy Regional Theatre yesterday afternoon, Mayor-elect Kim McMillan and six city council members were sworn in to serve the interests of the citizens of the City of Clarksville for the next two years. Lance Baker, the Clarksville City Attorney acted in the role of emcee for the ceremony. Judge Ross Hicks introduced Judge Robert W. Wedemeyer who then swore in the new Mayor.
Kim McMillan is the first woman elected to serve as the Mayor of the City of Clarksville.

Afterwards Mayor McMillan swore in the newly elected council members and then held a special called session of the Clarksville City council to nominate and elect Councilman Geno Grubbs as the Mayor Pro Tem. [Read more]
