Clarksville’s James Moore and Sean Hogan take Viking Cruise in Norway and Scotland

Clarksville, TN – Supervisory Librarian, Robert F. Sink Memorial Library at Fort Campbell, James Moore and Special Collections Librarian, Felix G. Woodward Library, Austin Peay State University, Sean Hogan, are world travelers.
Each year they cruise to a different location and this June their travels took them on a Viking ocean cruise to both Norway and Scotland. Following are James’ enticing description of their tour and Sean’s exquisite photographs:

Frazier Allen: Multigenerational Memory-Making

Clarksville, TN – With the help of multigenerational vacations, two or three generations of a family – perhaps those spread across the country in today’s mobile society – have a chance to develop special bonds as they share traveling experiences.
A 2014 poll by the American Automobile Association found that 36% of American families planned holiday trips involving at least three generations in 2015, up 4% from the previous year. Also, a network of high-end travel agencies last year named mutigenerational travel the industry’s leading trend for the fourth year running.
The idea of spending vacation time bonding across layers of one’s multigenerational family may not appeal to everyone, but a growing number of families have made the concept increasingly popular.
Clarksville Youth Educational Excursion

St Louis, MO – Youth from Clarksville, Tennessee embarked on an educational excursion that began with the Missouri Historical Museum where they learned about the Missouri’s rich history and viewed the NFL Hall of Fame exhibits.
The next day the group went on a walking guided tour around them Arch prior to taking the tram to take in St Louis from the top followed by a Riverboat cruise. Upon disembarking the group visited the Historical Courthouse where the Dred Scott Trail took place and were able to participate in the reenactment of the trial.
