The City of Clarksville kicked off the 2012 Christmas on the Cumberland on Tuesday

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville kicked off the 14th Annual Christmas on the Cumberland on Tuesday, which continues until January 1st. The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.
This has become one of the most popular events held on the banks of the Cumberland River in Historic Downtown Clarksville, second only to the Riverfest Celebration held in September. It draws thousands of people per day down to the banks of the Cumberland River to enjoy the Christmas lights with family and friends.

Clarksville, TN – Kids of all ages are encouraged to come to Christmas on the Cumberland for fun, family friendly activities. Christmas on the Cumberland is open nightly from 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays through January 5th, 2013.
Admission to the event is free.
Clarksville’s 6th Annual Downtown for the Holidays December 1st

Clarksville, TN – Be a part of a Clarksville tradition by celebrating this year at the 6th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville, December 1st, 2012.
The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K hosted by the City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason. The 5K race will begin at 8:00am, in downtown Clarksville. Registration is available now at www.active.com.
Pre-register by November 15th and pay only $20.00. If you register between November 16th and November 30th, the cost is $25.00. Registration will be available on race day, cost will be $30.00. All proceeds will benefit the Food Initiative. [Read more]
Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development To Hold Ground-breaking at The Vinings at Greencastle October 24th

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development in conjunction with The Vantage Group, LLC will hold a ground-breaking ceremony for The Vinings at Greencastle, an 80 unit apartment complex, on October 24th, 2012 at 10:00am.
The Vinings at Green Castle will be an affordable multi-family housing complex that is designed to accommodate residents 55+ years and up. The complex offers a number of amenities such as a community building, on site management and maintenance and will include an open floor plan and energy efficient appliances. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more this season on Friday, October 19th, 2012. Join us for this month’s free concert beginning at 7:00pm.
The concert features trio, “Ten Strings and Tom”, named for the instruments in their band- six string guitar, four string bass, and a Tom or one drum of a drum set. Members include Syd Hedrick (Guitar and Vocals), Skip Clark (Bass), and Tom Nadeau (Drums). They’ll be sure to keep your toes tapping performing songs of other famous power trios like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and others. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley again on Friday, September 21st, 2012. Join us for this month’s free concert beginning at 7:00pm.
The concert features four good ole boys from the backwoods of Clarksville, Tennessee. Don’t let that fool you, because they know how to rock! What began as a high school pastime turned into something even they weren’t expecting. Their band, Backroad Brigade, is like no other bands of their generation. Instead of power pop or death metal, they keep the sound of good, old-fashioned rock and roll alive.
