Jammin’ in the Alley Concert Series Kicks off its Fourth Season

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once again. Join us on Friday, May 20th to kick off Jammin’ in the Alley’s fourth year in downtown Clarksville. This event takes place the third Friday of every month through October.
This month’s free concert features Tennessee’s premier Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction. This band began from a simple dare. While at a karaoke competition several years ago, a friend of the band’s lead singer Ryan Christopher, dared him to sing Journey’s song, “Don’t Stop Believin’,” to win the contest. Christopher was shocked how natural he felt performing the song and from that moment, he began his quest. He formed Chain Reaction with musicians Greg Vass, guitar/backing vocals; Tommy Hall, bass/backing vocals; Gene Powers, keyboards; Mike Seay, drums; and sound engineer Mark McCuiston. [Read more]
Clarksville’s 4th Annual Downtown for the Holidays

Clarksville, TN – Be a part of a Clarksville tradition by celebrating this year at the 4th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and US Bank, in Downtown Clarksville, December 4th beginning at 3:00pm.
The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K sponsored by the City of Clarksville and R3. The race will begin at 3:00pm, followed by a youth run at 3:45pm. You can register now at www.active.com. Deadline to register is December 2nd.

Banking is Elementary with US Bank’s School Program

Clarksville, TN – US Bank’s commitment to local schools as a Partner in Education has resulted in helping elementary students operate their own school banks.
Currently there are five active school banks at the following schools: Cumberland Heights, East Montgomery, Hazelwood, St Bethlehem, and Minglewood. Past partnerships included Sango, Burt and Moore as well.
City votes on Clarksville’s Best for the March of Dimes

Clarksville, Tenn -The Best of Clarksville fundraiser for the March of Dimes is eagerly awaited each year by both businesses and area residents. The fundraiser this year featured 140 businesses in 65 categories; each one looking to score the votes of area residents to be declared The Best of Clarksville. The event consists of local vendor booths, silent auctions, dance performances, free give-a-ways, and a fireworks show by Allen’s Fireworks. All of the money raised is donated to the March of Dimes.
Matthews Nissan Suzuki was the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors included Five Star Radio, Sango Village Florist, US Bank, Cumberland Bank and Trust, FedEx, Allen’s Fireworks, Ad One Advertising, WJZM 1400 AM, and The Leaf-Chronicle.

The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more. Join us on Friday, August 20th for Jammin’ in the Alley’s third year in downtown Clarksville.
This month’s free concert features the classic rock band, The Sell Outs.
The band is made up of four local musicians- Neil Brock, Joe Wall, Rick Goodwin, Brian Glass- all who have been playing in Clarksville since their teen years. After years of traveling around and playing in different bands such as, The Sizzling Happy Family, His Boy Elroy, The Beagles, and The Billygoats and Myth- just to name a few, have now come together and formed The Sell Outs, playing classic guitar rock in the Clarksville area. Playing music from the late 60’s to the 21st century and covering bands like Santana, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Sublime, Rolling Stones and much more- everyone is sure to have a good time! The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will soon be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley once more. Join us on Friday, July 16th for Jammin’ in the Alley’s third year in downtown Clarksville.
This month’s free concert features the Tina Brown. This New York native has quickly become a Clarksville favorite performing at various events around town, to include our recent July 3rd Celebration at McGregor Park. Tina Brown has also performed all over the mid-South to include blues festivals, on Beale Street, and has even opened for Earth, Wind, & Fire and Gladys Knight in Europe! [Read more]
F&M Bank Maintains Market Share Top Spot in Montgomery County and MSA

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — According to reports just issued by the FDIC, F&M Bank has maintained its number one ranking for total deposits in Montgomery County for the sixth year in a row. F&M increased its market share in Montgomery County to 19.52% of total deposits, an increase of .56% over last year. According to the 2009 FDIC reports of deposits through June 30, 2009, Regions Bank ranked number two with 13.43%, while Legends Bank held the number-three position with 12.26%. Other banks with double-digit market share in Montgomery County include First Federal with 12.17%, U.S. Bank with 11.49% and Bank of America with 11.15%. [Read more]
