Riverfest to be held this weekend, September 8th-10th, 2016

Clarksville, TN – Join the City of Clarksville and Miller Lite along the banks of the Cumberland River as we celebrate Clarksville’s river heritage at the 28th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 8th-10th, 2016.
This FREE, three-day music and arts festival features three stages of local and nationally-known and diverse entertainers, cultural groups, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.

Clarksville, TN – There will be lane closures on Riverside Drive for Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival starting Friday, September 5th through Saturday, September 6th, 2014.
Traffic will be slower moving than usual during this time period, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination.
Free parking will be available at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center parking lot.
Riverside Drive Lane Closures for Clarksville’s Riverfest and Park Information

Clarksville, TN – There will be lane closures on Riverside Drive for Clarksville’s Riverfest through September 7th. Traffic will be slower moving than usual during this time period, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination.
Free parking will be available at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center parking lot. Bus service will be running every 30-45 minutes to shuttle patrons to the Riverfest gates on Saturday only, beginning at 9:30am and continuing until the park closes.
Living History Weekend at Fort Defiance Interpretive Center

Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will host a living history weekend in remembrance of the Confederate recapture of Clarksville as well as the battle of Riggins Hill, Saturday, September 15th from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, September 16th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

McGregor Park will be closed to the public on Wednesday, September 5th at daybreak in preparation for the festival. No admission will be charged to enter the park during the festival on September 7th and 8th. [Read more]

Civil War Living History Encampment to be held at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Clarksville-Montgomery County Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission invites the public to join us at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, Saturday, October 22nd from 10:00am to 5:00pm, to experience the sights and sounds of a Civil War campsite and battlefield.
All ages are welcome to attend this free event. Visitors can explore the Center, which features several multi-media interpretive exhibits, observe living history stations located around the fort and watch as cannons are fired periodically. Don’t miss the chance to learn about the fascinating chain of events that unfolded on this very site during the Civil War and Reconstruction.

Fort Defiance Walking Trails to Close Wednesday

Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance walking trails will be closed to the public Wednesday, April 6th, to be resurfaced.
The trails will re-open to the public on Thursday, April 7th, just in time for a ribbon-cutting ceremony that day, followed by weekend grand opening activities at Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center that is planned for this weekend.
