Happy Days at the Roxy Regional Theatre starting July 12th

Clarksville, TN – Goodbye gray skies, hello blue! Happy days are here again with Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli, Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph and all of the gang in the Roxy Regional Theatre’s production of “Happy Days”, opening Thursday July 12th, at 7:00pm.
This new musical based on the hit television series reintroduces one of America’s best-loved families, the Cunninghams, to a whole new generation, taking audiences back to the days of 1959 Milwaukee, complete with varsity sweaters, hula hoops and jukebox sock-hoppin’.

Clarksville, TN – John McDonald and Tom Thayer have brought together the perfect cast for their production of “Spring Awakening”. The result is a powerful, passionate performance that draws the audience in and sends them on an emotional journey with the characters they are portraying.
“Spring Awakening” is set in a 19th century German village that is socially and sexually repressed. The musical follows a group of teenagers through their own self discoveries as they become young adults.
Matt DuMont (as Melchior), Hannah Church (as Wendla) and Gregory Pember* (as Moritz) put on a strong, emotional performance that really lets the audiance feel what their characters are going through.
The rest of the cast, Melanie Beck, Josh Bernaski, Ryan Bowie, Regan Featherstone, Humberto Figueroa, Leslie Greene, Erin Keas, Ashley Laverty, John McDonald, Hollie Morse, Sean Ormond, Rob Rodems, Cassie Thompson and Kendall Anne Thompson are equally impressive.

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre kicked off their run of the musical Almost Heaven. The show pays tribute to the life and music of John Denver. The production uses twenty five iconic John Denver songs that are a cross section of our nation capturing the turbulent times in which he wrote them. The wildly popular songs are juxtaposed with interviews, fan letters, and passages from his autobiography to weave the spell binding story of his life.
Directed by Tom Thayer, the show features Keith Panzarella, Erica Haines Cantrell, Bryan Benware, Kendall Anne Thompson and Ryan Bowie, with David Lovell on guitar, Tom Thayer on piano and Thad Wallus on bass.

The Roxy Regional Theatre is currently putting on a production of Shout! The Mod Musical. Featuring five beautiful women who are identified by the colors that represent their individual personalities; Orange, Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow.
The musical follows their lives and loves during the 1960’s which was wonderfully illustrated by using the music, dance, fashion, and via pop culture references from those tumultuous times. Only four performances remain (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) so you need to make your plans to see this wonderful show as soon as possible!

“Hello, I am Johnny Cash”
The Roxy Regional Theatre has always done musicals well, so it is no surprise that the “Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash” was a foot tapping good time. Showcasing the life of country Music Legend Johnny Cash the musical followed his life from his birth, until his death in 2003. The show features Nathan Freeman, Brian C. Veith, Melissa Dowty, and Mindy Wedner. They were backed up by some great musicians Travis Wetzel, Lisa Horngren, John Waddle, Scott Stowe, Thad Wallus, Matt Whittenburg, and Tom Thayer.
The show runs through February 27, playing Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7pm and Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with a 2pm matinee on Saturday, February 20. Tickets are $20 (adults) and $15 (ages 13 and under). Tickets to all performances can be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931-645-7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9am-2pm, weekdays).

This show is based around music and songs of Johnny and June Carter Cash and features 33 individual numbers mixing the voices of the cast in a harmonious blend. The first act’s music was positive and celebrated southern life, while the second half takes a somewhat darker tone most likely due to the admitted drug use by Cash. [Read more]
