Aspire Clarksville Foundation Announces New Board of Directors

Aspire Clarksville FoundationClarksville, TN – The Aspire Clarksville Foundation is pleased to announce their Board of Directors for the 2012-2013 term.

At the July 26th meeting of the Aspire Steering Committee, it was voted and approved that Jack B. Turner and Lawson Mabry will serve alongside Chairperson Katherine Cannata, Immediate Past-Chair Terry Strange and Economic Development Council Chairman Steve Kemmer on the FY13 Aspire Board of Directors.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System Teachers receive $20,000 Grant from Dow Corning Foundation

July 27, 2012

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemClarksville, TN – The Dow Corning Foundation has approved a $20,000 grant to Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to fund the Teacher Extern Program, started this summer with 10 local industries, including Hemlock Semiconductor Group’s Clarksville site.

The program partners math and science teachers from CMCSS with engineers and industry professionals to better understand real life application of the subject they teach.

Aspire Foundation Presents Clarksville-Montgomery County School System STEM Academy with Check

Clarksville Area Chamber of CommerceClarksville, TN – At the November 8th Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) Board meeting, Aspire Foundation Chairman, Terry Strange and Economic Development Council President and CEO, James Chavez presented the local school system with a $10,000 check to support the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program. The grant was provided through the privately funded Aspire Foundation.

“The Aspire Foundation has advocated for the adoption of the STEM curriculum throughout the school system,” said Strange. “Our goal is to promote STEM and the specialized opportunities that it presents for gifted and advanced students.” [Read more]

(BMU) announced today that they are planning a $75 million expansion to their site in the Clarksville-Montgomery County Corporate Business Park. This location serves as the US Corporate Headquarters for steel cord production.

Legends Bank Recognized for Most School Supplies Collected

Clarksville-Montgomery County Education FoundationMontgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation President Terry Strange presents Legends Bank Vice President of Marketing Brittney Campbell with the top collector award in the Apples for Education Challenge.

Legends Bank branches and Cumberland Bank and Trust collected school supplies for the CMC Teachers Warehouse in July and August.

Legends collected $400.00 and more than 500 school supplies.
